Arceus is a really weird case for me. I will almost always correct myself when I learn the correct pronunciation of a Pokémon's name, but for whatever reason, that never happened with Arceus. I fully acknowledge that it should be pronounced Ar-kee-us, but I've always pronounced it as Ar-suse (pronounced like Dr. Seuss) myself. It's funny because everyone thinks it should be one of two or three different generally accepted pronunciations, and yet I go make up my own and stick to it stubbornly. I couldn't tell you why, it just sounds so much better to me.

It's like how I pronounce Roselia. The anime pronounces it Ro-seh-lia, but I pronounce it as Ro-see-lia just because it sounds better to me. I've also heard some people say Riolu as Rai-oh-loo ("Rai" as in Raichu), when it's actually supposed to be pronounced as Ree-oh-loo (since it's a sort of reversal of the syllables of Lucario).

Ar-see-es is how I pronounce the name in my head. But I distinctly remember some people pronouncing it Arc-ee-us when I went to an Arceus event distribution once.

I've always thought the "C" was meant to be spelled as a "C" so I was really surprised finding out it's actually meant to have a "K" sound.
I tend to use C not just because I got used it but because the japanese version of the anime uses it as well

I'm pretty sure there's no soft C in Japanese, unless it's in English loanwords (where it gets transliterated into "sh"), so "center" would become something like "shenturo". Arceus is probably spelled with a K in Japanese, if its name is the same as in English.

It's been a long time so my memory is rusty but I recall them spelling like they'd spell "se" which is actually part of their alphabet (せ for hiragana and セ for katakana)
