How Do You Want It, Baby? Fast Or Slow?

Aren't my thread titles the best? Anyways, straying away from my suggestive title, let's get down to the main purpose of this thread.

How are you planning to play out D/P? This breaks down into many different questions.

Fast and ignore most things, worry about them later? Or play very slowly, trying to complete your Pokedex as much as possible as you go along, participating in every sidequest, finding every item?

Plan out your teams ahead of time down to the type, species, nature and gender? Maybe just plan out the types you want? Save a spot for one or two of your favorites you've already seen? Change your team set-up as you go, a new team member every route, until the very end when you've decided on your final team? Or just play through and catch whatever, make that your team, and not worry about it?

Cheat codes, or the honest way?

Find out everything about the game, every Pokemon stat, every item location, the exact text and play through like that? Or just wing it, maybe with an occasional refrence in times of uncertainty?

Obsess with getting a starter shiney/obsess with EV training from the get go, or actually just train what you catch and let it grow as it does?

I think that's enough detailed, varied examples. So with that being said: How do you like it?

Like every game I get, I will play it slowly and methodically, allowing myself and my mind to be absorbed into the game fully. Games are more fun for me when I actually assume the role of the protagonist and put myself in his place rather than act as a god-figure and send the protagonist subliminial messages on what to do and where to go, hence the name of the genre of role-playing games.

Really, I just find it more fun to trek the dales and hills head-on than rip through a game.

I am planning to get both games which i have never done and the first i won't look at any cheats and go through honestly and slowly making sure i miss nothing. My second time around i plan to go through, make sure to get sidequests, and improve over what i did wrong the first time. Yea the title sorta creeped me out.....

I plan to go through... rather carelessly and lackadaisical. Yeah, stats and stuff are good, but who cares this time around....

I agree with V faction . The first time through , I just want to do the story , not caring about anything . Sure , stats are great , but I tend to just play .

I tend to be in the middle. I pretty much try to catch most of the Pokemon I want, as well as fight most of the trainers the first time through; however, the team I play through with will not be my final team. After I complete the game, I'll be busy EV training and stuff. As for cheats, I'll use those if there's a Pokemon I want that's not in the version I own.

I'll go through it slowly. I'll try any Pokémon I find interesting or strong (Which suddenly stops when I have most Types covered.), search every corner for Items and Trainers, and then keep on training after beating it. If I ever restart, I'll do the no-skill trick of training one Poké, and such... bot that's a "no" in the first go-around.

The first time around, I'll probably blaze through it, trying to get to the E4 as soon as I can. Later, I'll take my time and try to complete the Pokedex.

Catch the coolest pokemon *cough* RSE Zangoose *cough* and only train it and beat the Elite Four with it. No cheating for me!

Ill do it the way ive done for the 3rd generation:

Get my team ASAP, then get them to about the same level. Repeat every time your starter reaches a level. Then capture a guy and train it if you want to add it to your party or just keep it in your box. Making sure i have enough of every item at my disposal, so as not to encouter any kind of trap. Training in the grass for hours on end(my best Sapphire file had 102 hours on it before i fought the elite four, and most of my guys were at around level 50), then whipping every trainer and leader that comes my way with my pokes. Having a well balanced moveset(2 offence/ 3 offence + 2 defence/ 1 offence). Always having a guy for the following HM's(assuming that they return as HM's): - Surf, - Fly, - Flash, - Strength, -Rock Smash/Cut.

That's about the way im playing it for D/P. And also this is something i tend to do every time i play a new game(of pokemon fyi); catch every pokemon that are in that particular area, no matter how rare it is to find. Did that for my first Sapphire file, i went quite well i must say.

I'll approach DP for the 1st time slowly and try not to rush into beating it. LoL but I tend to get hooked onto a 1st time pokemon game and I feel that it is my mission to play it whenever I can to beat it.
I'll only catch pokemon that I want for my battle party, and choose my fav. looking starter, and catch pokes that are important like HM slaves.

I'll have an HM slave for the first time.
I only heard of them after RSE came out...
Just in addition to my former post.

I am gunna go as slow as possible so I get more play time out of he first thrill of playing it. After starting a new game it sort of looses its fantasy. First time is always the funnest and Ill not be looking at any more new pokemon except for a couple random ones and the starters and the ones on the box. So I can get the complete thrill of never having seen a pokemon before. It really annoys me because I never can not look at new pokemon! I really want tothe first time surprises.

I am going to spend a long time deciding nicknames, trainer name, starter, partry etc. so slow is the best!!

Go slow and catch a slowpoke! Just for me!!

I usally like to speed though gym leaders and get to the E4 as fast as I can, but complete side quests as I go. But sometimes I take it slow and easy. Train my team, hunt for rare pokemon (like the Chimecho I caught in Emerald), and search for items.

I hate carying (sp?) an HM slave around. I usally don't train it, and if I do, there's no room for new moves. I usally forget it's my HM slave, so I usally switch it out to train other pokemon.

I am going to do it slowly as I usually do. I will train a full team of 6 (or maybe 5 + 1HM slave). I will also battle as many trainers as possible and battle all the wild Pokemon (unless I am almost dead or something).

I will play the game slowly, study every little thing in it, I will train many pokemons so whenever I need one I use it and not to have problems through the game. Like I do in every other game. I will try to finish it and have everything cleared right.

Is a college kid.
Slow and steady. Build my team before hand (meaning catching Poke'Mon
with good natures and abilities...ect...not bringing them all up to unbeatable
levels...) and catch everything else when I go back through.
