Maybe the same way Grass pokemon store infinite leaves, Earthquake misses Dodrio even though it can't fly, and Pikachu can shoot out bolts of lighting.

Magic!

Rayquaza is based on those oreintal easter dragons you always see, so it flies becuase the old myths fly.

Although the short answer is, It's Pokemon...

Geodudes can fly. It's a rock. :p Pokemon can fit in Pokeballs. Pokemon =/= Logic.;384;

Rayquaza (probably) flies by magic. It's what the Pokedex uses to explain things the creators can't figure out themselves.

RaZoR LeAf

Night Terror
The same way Dodrio flies. Invisible Jet packs and Anti-gravity belts.

It's just up there. Description= Sky High Pokemon.
Not sure if it means "always up there and can't come down" or "doped on drugs", though.

Whenever i think of things like this, I just say magic.

if a rat can blow electricity out is mouth then why cant a snake float in mid air?

Jetx

hooray, it's Jetx!
I'd just say it pushes itself into the sky and just never stops gliding. XD

Indeed, most things in Pkmn such as how Bayleef can shoot out so many leaves, etc. are meant ta be magical abilities, tch, but then there's geeks like me who always try ta find an explanation ta everything. XD

Oay,here goes: I think Rayquaza's got certain chemical and physical processes goin' on inside tha cells in either her whole body, tch, or only in speciallized cells found in tha scales(I'd say tha whole body) that produce a kind of electromagnetism that either repels or nullifies the earth's own, and by varying the amount of magnetic Charge in different parts of her body she can propel herself through the air.

Kinda like a bit stolen from Beldum's PokeDex data I know, tch, but that's how I think she does it.

No avatard plz
It flys using dagon levitaction. Telepithy. Some dragons use negative gravity. It reverses gravity and uses the negative form so the gravity is 0 around the body of the dragon.

Dude, telepathy does not cause levitation. Telepathy is the use of communicating and reading of the mind. If you know anything about ESP (extrasensory perception), then please don't refer to it if you do not know the terms. It makes me feel like an idiot since I have an encyclodia on ghosts and the supernatural. Levitation and telepathy are two different kinds of ESP. I've already stated what telepathy is. Levitation is the use of mental power to suspend your body to conteract gravitation, like you pointed out minimally above. There's also magnetic levitation such as the negative and positive charges of magnets to cause suspension and repel of their charges.

Rayquaza is an it; it's genderless. It is neither male nor female. Rayquaza is the Air Element of Pokemon; Groudon is Land while Kyogre is Ocean.

He jumps off high places, and since his body is filled with fins, he glides down all teh way to the ground, until the air currents pick him up.

It fills its body with these fins by mutilating countless Carvahnnas...

I would assume that it's just a power it's obtained. On Collosseum and XD, does it fall to the ground upon knockout? I would say that points to the possibility of mental or spiritual powers leading to its flight.

It's Pokedex entires for every version of thegame it's in state that Rayquaza constantly flies in the ozone layer. Maybe it just above the ozone layer and skims along the surface of it, when it wants to enter th Earth's atmosphere it just adjusts the angle of its body. When it wants to leave again it coils itself into a spring and bounces very high into the air, of course this takes a lot of energy on Rayquaza's part, which is why it very rarely descends.
