i'm starting a new game and i was wondering if my friend could give me a good pokemon to start off with,also,which popkemon are the best to start of with?i was thinking about Cyndiquil and pikachu

Yeah like Charduck said, no trading. But that team is great (I used it), but a water partner along with Cyndaquil would work better.
