Captain Jigglypuff

*On Vacation. Go Away!*
While I didn't mind the BW series in itself, I got pretty annoyed at Iris's habit of calling Ash a "little kid", even though she's a kid herself.
I was a bit annoyed with that too but at least it wasn’t as irritating as Cilan being a “connoisseur” of random things that are just weird to be an expert of such as lunch boxes. I was actually expecting him to declare himself the expert of belly button lint at some point because how overdone the gag became.

OMG I so agree, Cilan was too annoying for me

Got into þe franchise in later 2016 because of various classmates who also played, and then got absolutely hooked because of various low-quality websites (somehow took until 2018 to find Bulbapedia and Serebii in late 2019). Got my first game (Ultra Moon) in November 2017 as a bribe from grandparents and have been a super fan ever since.

And in a weirdly clear memory I have from þat era, þe last type I learned of was þe Fighting-type, which 12-year-old me þought didn't make sense since "all Pokémon fight."

I started watching Indigo League and then XY in 2016 on Netflix. I left the fandom for a while and rejoined in 2019. I didn’t start playing the games until this year

I was like 10 when I watched the anime for the first time. I had an off-period but still I think it qualifies for 21+ years

20 years to be exact.
I remember watching the show first and then playing the games some time later.

For me, I think the games were first, then the show later. I remember watching the Advanced series at my grandma's house.

I have a few memories that I would classify as my "first memory" since I have no idea which came first, but I'm guessing they were around the same time and I had to have been like 4 or 5 at the time, probably my oldest memories too.
I remember having a single Haunter Pokemon card, the original one from the first set. Weirdly enough, it's the only card I remember having until I started collecting years later (Haunter was my favorite Pokemon back then so that's likely why it stood out), so if it was from a pack, I don't remember the rest.
Another memory I have is watching an episode of the anime at some daycare facility attached to a casino. I vividly remember there was a convex part of the daycare that had a big movie theater area (probably not actually that big tho) with carpeted stands to sit and watch whatever they were playing at the time. The two episodes I remember was an early one when Ash was in Viridian Forest being attacked by the Beedrill and the one where he met Brock's dad selling rocks. I was completely absorbed into the show.
I also had these Pokemon wall decals of the original 151 Pokemon that my mom would challenge me with. Remember a Pokemon name and I could add one to the wall somewhere. The only one I remember back then was getting Machop right and being ridiculously happy.

Pokemon has been in my life for as long as I can remember. I don't have old old memories, but it's safe to say Pokemon has been in my life for a good 20+ years. Crazy to think it's been around me for that long and still is.
