How many new Pokemon do you think there will be?

I think nintendo is taking along time to release D/P cause they might be making alot of new pokemon and making them with more details tahn from the past games it must be hard to craete so many pokemon in little time but have you also noticed taht each gen the legendary pokemon look more vicous and they resemble things that would look like yugi-oh card monters for example rayquaza reminds me of that red god dragon slyfer or whatever you call it its been along time since i looked at that show cause its wierd most of the time and always talkes about darkness and pure world destruction. any ways i think gruodon looks like a version of my fav b movie monster wich is godzilla.and the lugia in XD looks so cool i wish it would stay balck after you get it purified and would be considerd shiney but that would be the best thing that would happen to me int the game that is i also think D/P will have twice as many legendaries than the other gens like the 3rd gen had 10 legends if im not mistaken,who knows maybe D/P will have twenty legends and about 200 new ones that would make it one of the best pkmn games ever and the game should have a upgrade download feature so that when they want to make a new gen and some new regions you could just download them into your game instead of waiting so long to make a new game i also would like to know if its true that you can create what your character looks like and even change thier skin color cause it seems wierd playing as a person thats does not resemble me like my skin color for example I wont say cause i dont want to lose any friends here cause im new here iv already lost some of your guys trust thanks to my dumb step brotheranyway what do you all think how many pokemon will be in D/P one more thing since it has been confirmed that you will be able to trade between D/P and the gba titles i wonder if you can send your gba pokemon to D/p without trading them for any thing like uplaoding them to the game and if you can trade new pokemon like lucario to the old ones cause hed look awsome in 3-d on xd or collosium.

Yes, if you remember correctly, R/S had 135 new creatures to obtain. They might amp up the amount more. What we've seen so far for the released Pokemon, they're either part of the existing forms of G/S Pokemon.

In addition to new Evos and Pre-Evos, there'll be new combos of types (I can see it now....Poison/Dark-types.....Grass/Fire-types......). Multiply those different combos by 2 or 3 and the numbers add up.

Regarding the theory of why the long wait, don't forget that D/P is coming out for the DS, so GameFreak is going to explore just about every means to exploit the features of the DS, which will take some brain-racking. Then there's coming up with new moves, new items (including items not previously available to make the new Pre-Evos and Evos of existing Pokemon possible), new storyline, and hopefully a new way to play (besides the old go-into-the-grass-and-wonder-around-until-something-pops-up routine).

I agree with you there. I wish people would settle down about, "Oooh, I want D/P right now!!" People should play with what's available at the moment. Like Bryan said earlier, and I've said several months ago, people on this forum NEED to prepare themselves by leveling their Pokemon for this game.

Game Freak weren't lying when they created the Battle Frontier; that part in Emerald is hard. Especially for me. You wouldn't realize that sometimes it takes time to prepare for these tasks ahead of time. I had to get a party in FFXI started to go fight Avatar Primes. Took me NINE hours in real life to get my friends (waiting because of different time zones) to log on so that we could beat Shiva's a**. We finally did lol

But enough of that. Yes, it takes time for game developers to come up with what you just said before and that's why I'm quoting you. It takes time to build the strengths of your Pokemon or video game characters. People need to prepare their teams and theirselves for what's to come.

I am hoping for about 150 to get to 550 total. Good things take time. If nintendo rushes the game then people will complain that it sucks. They are also working on other pokemon games. The reason why there has been no DP info out is because they want to release their other pokemon games first.

It Will be in the Five Hundreds,550 seems reasonable,or they could only have 535 or whatever.My point is that there will be a lot of stuff in D/P,thats why it's taking soooooooo long to release any knda of Information.Pokemon Ranger,Trouze,Mistery Dungeon(Two of them xD),so you can imagine all of that gaming making and STILL have to finish D/P.For me i Think They have All pokemons Finished(Ken Sugimori is really talented ") and they know what to do with them.Now it's just taking time to Put that in the Two games,that so far is making most of people going crazy in serebii forums.
EDIT:For me the release date will be in Later Summer or Winter 2006.

150 Kanto + 100 Johto + 136 Hoenn= 386 Pokemon + 114 D/P= 500 Overall

501 sounds like the magic number people want, and the amount of Pokemon's already large enough that it's like "woah, forget catchin' em all." But, personally, I would like them to shoot higher, say around 551. If they're going to waste some slots on new evolutions/preevies of older monsters, then they better even it out with a lot of new ones I don't want to put in DP and find out most of the stuff I'm catching is related to stuff I had, and didn't use, before >:/

I want at least 130 new Pokemon, but would prefer more. I certainly hope that "a lot of new Pokemon" doesn't mean anything less.
