How much....

Does anyone know how much the Nintendo DS costs right now? Has its price gone down? I want to buy one, so I can play Pokemon Pearl and Diamond.

The Nintendo DS was released for $149.99 in the US. Its price has lowered to $129.99 at the current moment.

However, the Nintendo DS Lite is scheduled to be released on June 11, 2006 for the same price. It'll be in the white color. You can pretty much choose whichever you want, between the DS and DS Lite.

However, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl aren't due for release until Fall in Japan. Nothing's been confirmed on a specific release date either in Japan or the US.

I have to ask that if the DS lite coming out will that make the normal DS price go down?

I'd say it would, when the GBASP came out the GBA dropped dramatically over here, I can't see the DS dropping as much as the GBA did but it will porbably drop.

Hm. Dunno if that's gonna happen.

While it is the same amount of years apart when both handhelds had a better, cheaper model released (two years for the GBA to SP and DS to DS Lite) in the US, this isn't all exactly the same instance. The DS Lite is just smaller in design with backlight options. The SP, however, was a bigger change to the GBA. It had a new design, it had backlighting and it also came with its own rechargable battery.

I got my preowned DS for £90 with Sonic Rush a couple of months ago. I have seen new Nintendogs and Mario Kart DS packs for £119.99.

Well final answer, if you live in America and have an EBgames or a GameStop close to you, you can buy it used for $109.99. Unless of course, you don't want to but it used, in which case you can spend twenty dollars more for it.

Or, if you want to but new, but still pay less, you can check flea markets. I went to a flea market in South Carolina, and a man was selling a brand new (or so he said) Nintendo DS for $90.00. But it was opened, so that's probably why it was cheeper.

Or, you can check Ebay. They have a ton of DS' there. Except that the ones with really good deals are all used. But maybe you can find a new one for a good price. Or you ca simply wait until Diamond and Pearl come out to buy it, because there's a good chance the prices will go down by then.

Well, I certainly wouldn't wait for D/P to come out, that'll take ages whilst there are loads of brilliant games already availible on the DS at the moment. (Metroid Prime Hunters, Mario Kart DS, Wario Ware Touched!, Sonic Rush, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Tetris DS, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time just spring to mind) and with New Super Mario Bros. on the horrizon and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass just coming soon, you might as well get one now, it's pretty damn cheap for what it's worth.

Around the end of the month i'm trading in my Ds for the Ds Lite. Then gonna paint it red.Anyway you can get a used one for 110$.

It really all depends on where you go to buy one. EBgames has a nice selection of used ones for a good price, and they work quite well. The new ones are quite cheap also, considering that most now come bundled with a game too. So if you have roughly 150$ in your pocket and maybe a few more dollars just in case, that's really all you need.

Time will tell.
DS Lite = 199$ from what I hear actually. DS is probably gonna go lower by the end of the year. I already own one, but there are many other incredible games, so well, your choice for now or for later.

No, the DS lite is going to be the same price as the regular DS, meaning about $129.99 new, or however much you can get it for. But yeah, chaces are the DS price is going to go down with the release of the lite.

It would be very strange if Nintendo didn't lower the price of the original DS. Imagine someone walking into a store wanting to buy a DS. If they see the DS next to the DS Lite for the same price which one do you think they will buy? Now if there was a price difference then Nintendo could sell the normal DS to whoever doesn’t care about the extra features or just wants to pay less. So I can see the original DS going down to about $99.99-$109.99.
