How often do you save?

How often do you save when playing? Do you do it frequently or just play through and see how far you get in one sitting? (all the while hoping you don't die or the power goes out)

Myself...I usually save:

--before and after a difficult part/boss fight
--after recharging my characters (if it's possible)
--after getting an important item

I also save before making a crucial decision that could affect the game one way or another and when I am bored and want to kill a lot of people to see what happens. I cleaned out Skingrad in Elder Scrolls IV completely (aside from the non-killable characters) once when I was bored.

before a big boss battle, after getting a crucial or difficult item, or even after a difficult boss battle, though I got my emergency power generator, but stil, I save a lot

Far too often. On games with save points, I save every time I pass by one, and also when I’m about to do anything important. On games that allow you to save anywhere, especially those with quick save buttons, I pretty much save every two minutes. Hell, in an FPS I’ll quick save right before I turn a corner, then once I do and kill any enemies that were waiting for me, I’ll quick save again.

Pokemon: Before and after every important battle, event or level up.
RPGs: Before bosses, ater stocking up, before entering dungeons, etc.
Games with save points: Every time I see a save point :p
Zelda: When I turn off the game, or get Game Over.

Just about all other games I play save automatically.

No effin you, Kirby
Save points: I'd save every now and then, not too often. Example: Paper Mario TTYD
Save on the overworld: When I'm Shell Mario/Luigi and have a good item in reserve. XP Example: New Super Mario Bros
Save on the overworld 2: Other than that, if it's like Pokemon, probably before catching something important, Gym Leader fights, Rival... If it's not Pokemon, look below.
Other: Other than that, probably before a boss fight, or getting something important. I forgot to save against the Centipede like boss in Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, and I died, wasted my time...

I save when

-before I beat a boss
-after I beat a boss
-after I level up

I first saved like a mad man in Resident Evil 4. I had a total of 240+ saves by the time I finally got to Sadler.

Better then you
When I'm about to fight a boss, when I have defeated a boss, when I'm about to make a game altering decision. Just about the basics of any average gamer.

Who can say?
I save loads...if the game uses Save points FF X, Paper Mario etc. then every time I find one...in a game like Pokemon then everytime something good happens like level up, boss defeat-before and after, or before doing something important e.g choice story event. I'd rather save loads then forget-I've had that happen before!

It depends on what game it is. I'll always save before a boss. If it's a game with save points, I'll save every time I reach one. If you can save whenever you want, I'll save before hard battles or parts in which I could get killed from failing something like a puzzle. In Pokemon games, sometimes I save before facing a trainer to see what their leading pokemon is to change my leading pokemon to one that can easily defeat theirs.

when i was playing on a gba, I would save a game every 2 seconds (before a boss or not), because i was afraid of a battery popping out... but now that i use my DS, I dont save that often... I usually go into standby mode (and my DS is probably in standby mode now)

I dunno lol
Oh JEEZAS. I save too much. o_O Every five minutes, I save for no reason...ALONG WITH before a boss, after a boss, etc. I guess I'm just scared to lose my progress. >_<;;

I save before something that drastically changes the entire game, I save, then go out to do stupid things (then, turning the game off later). If the game has save points, I'll go whenever I see one, or when I've lost a teensy bit of health.

...I know...I'm too cautious... >__<;;;;

not that much because in postal 2 if you quicksave a lot the postal dude makes smart *** comments.

Meh, depends on the game/situation. Sometimes I save multiple times in an area, other times I barely save at all. Always before boss fights, though.

I find myself never really saving in Pokemon (except when I am about to quit) don't know why (also before I fight a one of, but that is a different story)

I'm so paranoid about saving. I'll save after I fight any enemy, enter a new room, talk to someone, just about anything.

Striking secretly
Usually, before a boss battle, after something important happened, after beating something that's difficulty was fierce, or when the game makes me. Or, if I am playing True Crime:NY, EVERY 10 MINUTES.
