How old are the characters?

Hey I was wondering... how old are the all main characters now? Have they aged?

I don't know anymore. Ash's voice became more kiddy recently in the US, some I'm guessing they somehow became younger.

Hmm... Well, if we go by the amount of actual years Pokemon has been out in the real world...

Ash should be between 18 and 20, depending on if you're starting from the beginning of the anime or the creation of Pokemon.

Misty should be about 18-22, depending on how old you believe she was when Pokemon first began.

Brock could be anywhere from 25-30 from what I've heard from some people.

And Max is supposed to be 8 or 9 years old?

Brock = Michael Jackson... ;

It's painfully obvious that the show doesn't take place in real time. There's no way in hell that Satoshi is 20 years old.

It's been made clear that Satoshi is older than 11, so my best guess is that he's at around 13 or so now. Haruka was obviously 10 when she started her journey, so she's probably around 11 now (possibly pushing 12). Masato is obviously younger than her but not old enough to be a trainer, so probably somewhere in the 7-9 range. For Takeshi or Kasumi, we have no idea, but they're likely around 2 to 4 years older than Satoshi. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Musashi and Kojirou are 17, but I don't think that it was an official source so I can't be sure.

Regardless of how many years have progressed in real life and the shows, the main group of our heroes are still 10 years old, with Takeshi possibly being older. It's been stated such as this by official sources. This never-aging tactic is seen in shows where the writers feel it's better to have a show that doesn't recquire the characters age, otherwise they have to create certain plot elements. That's why none of the casts from The Simpsons or Family Guy never age.

they are not that old the highest they can be is in the teenage ages

Ehh, despite the lack of visible aging and what the official sources say, I always think of them as getting older, mostly because that's convenient for me. It isn't as though their age really matters anyway, it's just something to think about. Masato is quite a wrench in the gears though, since he may very well never become of age to be a trainer as long as the show continues.

Considering he's off the show now and we don't see him anymore, AND the fact that he told May he wanted to become a trainer before AG ended, he may very well become one off screen.
