How real do you treat Pokemon

I... guess I treat them decently enough? I trade all of my teams to one game so I don't lose them. When I'm particularly bored, I pretend I'm a trainer using them. Otherwise, they're just data to me.

Use your imagination.
Pokeroids?
On topic, no I only think of the as bits of data. That doesn't mean I've never liked any more than the others (I still love you Hariyama!), it just means I'm not going to cry because my game got saved over.

Not a tool
I imagine my pokemon as pets. For the most part, they're simply not intelligent enough to be considered "companions" since that implies a mutual relationship. I've had my cat for far longer than any of my pokemon, and I certainly don't consider her my companion.

I consider pokemon data, but that doesn't mean I don't get attached to some of them (although I couldn't care less about the rest). I'm not going to cry if I lose one, although I might be a little bit angry especially if I put some effort into it or it has some sentimental value.

Pokemon are arrays of pixels and data. They do not have feelings, meaning they have absolutely no care in the world whether you stick them in a box forever or if you keep them in your party forever and ever. Simple as that.

An old soul
I treat my Pokemon like files on a competitive/casual RPG. That's about it.

When it comes to Pokemon, I treat them as bundles of data. Despite this, I feel a connection to the ones I have sunk work into. It's not because I care about their "feelings", it's because I spend day breeding for a good nature and IVs, about an hour EV training, and hours level grinding to 100. That's the only reason I care, I don't want my work going to waste. Now my relationship with my car is a different story....

Basically this.

I treat them as tools with which I can take over the Pokemon world. Y'know, Pokemon for profit and whatnot.

Uh, guys? You don't need to call people stupid for roleplaying. Pokemon is basically a roleplaying game, after all.

I usually treat them as friends. I don't care if they are pieces of data, I enjoy training them and pretending they are real.
