How to post images -- newbies, please read

i hosted the image online on photobucket you use the code luke doesd that mean generate the html and img code?

Only use the img code, the HTML won't work on these forums. ^^

The increase of "how do I post images?" spam has been growing until the point where we can't take it anymore. If you don't know how to post pictures on the fan art/sprites/comics forum, here's your thread.

1) Get an image host.

You need to host your image online, you cannot just link it from your computer like some people try to do (and obviously fail at). I would reccomend either ImageShack or Photobucket to host images for free.

Or if you want to showcase your art, try DeviantART.

2) Use the code, Luke!

Use it. It's your friend.

Use the image URL given to you by the free upload site in the middle of the image tags and voila, instant image. HTML will NOT work on vBulletin, so don't bother trying using <img src="">.

And there you go. That's all there is to it. Post here if you're still having trouble. x_X

If you're trying to get images from real life onto the computer, then yeah, that'd be a good idea, ne? ^^;

And just in case all other logic fails, you'd still have to upload images after you put them on your computer via a scanner.

We can't control what limits your parents put on your computer.

And scanners are real pieces of hardware, they can be bought at computer reatil stores and the like.

Also parent conltrols blocks out images used by imageshack,bucket,and deveint.That is an other reason why there are X's there.

If you're putting the code in post, use the thumbnail one, it's usually easier. But I'm pretty sure both could work.

ok i dont know wtf is going on i tried photobucket and tried 2 upload the image but it will not upload... last night i waited 15min and it still didn't upload...so i tried image shack.....same thing....how long does it take 4 a image 2 b uploaded? so when i X out the photobucket page and go back it just has a black rectangle.................. please help!

Maybe yuor connection sucks, what do you have, I have DSP and it sometimes takes 3 minutes.
