"Al ABOOOOAAAAAARD!" yelled Captain Lucian of the S.S. Lucy. It was slowly getting dark and he knew that if he left any later, it would get too dark. Sailing at night was notoriously risky in the Gulf of Mexico.

Plus, he was irritated. He'd been fired today and this journey to his home country, Brazil, would be his last. He couldn't afford any stragglers. He wanted to get going now, so he could arrive in Brazil in time to have dinner at his mother's house.

He looked admiringly at his ship. He'd been given it once he'd got the job and he had loved it ever since. The S.S Lucy. He'd always liked how it was so similar to his own name. She wasn't a massive cruise ship or a gigantic cargo ship. She transported passengers. That meant she was about medium size. There was room for about 50 passengers if that was needed. She was quite old-school, having very little decoration. She was primarily made of wood with bits of light metal supporting her structure. She was a lovely ship and, to try and make up for firing him, his company had let him take her on her last commercial journey and to keep her once it had finished.

Thomas Andrews nodded at the Captain's words. This was the first available ship to Brazil he could take. He'd visit Brazil for a day and see the sights, and, after that, he'd fly to his Grandparents' house in Spain where his mother and father were looking after his mother's cancerous father. He was looking forward to Brazil, but he really wanted to be with his Grandfather. His condition had got serious quite suddenly and if he were to die, Thomas wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he wasn't there.

He walked up to the boat and slowly made his way up the relatively small ramp that led him onto the boat itself. He looked around the boat, thinking inwardly. He then reached Captain Lucian and nodded, handing him the tickets his dad had bought before swiftly following his mother to Spain. The Captain hole-punched them much like a bus driver would.

"There ya go, kid." he said with his thick Spanish accent.

"Thanks" replied Tom.

Thomas then made his way through the boat and eventually, after looking for a while, found his cabin. He slowly opened the door and crept inside, looking around. It was a small cabin with one bed, just the right size for him. He had a bed-side table, but that was pretty much it when it came to extra furniture. He smiled, dumping his bag on his bed, before sitting down next to it. He closed his eyes, and before he knew it, he'd fallen asleep, His head resting against his bag.

Thomas dreamt he was in a strange place. Next to him, a bipedal yellow lizard-like creature walked with him. Thomas, who enjoyed Pokemon, recognized this as Scraggy. He decided this dream must be a pigment of his imagination from then. Pokemon didn't exist in the real world. All around his was a village. It looked like Earth, but with one major difference; it looked as if he'd stepped into medieval times. It looked like a quaint little medieval village.

Suddenly, a massive Phoenix-like bird screeched and Tom looked up. He gasped; anybody who'd played Pokemon as he had would know that this was Ho-oh, a very rare legendary Pokemon. Ho-oh landed right in front of him, holding what looked like a wet diary in its beak. It dropped it on the floor in front of Zack and then swiftly flew up. Zack was edgy. He didn't think he should pick this up.

Then, from behind him, there came a voice.

"Pick it up, silly." Thomas turned round rapidly and saw the face of a man there,. The man was wearing a joker's hat.

"Who are you?" asked Thomas.

"I'm the Town fool, fool! My name is Jonathan. Pick up the diary." replied the man with the silly hat.

Thomas nodded. So... a town fool. He looked to the side of Jonathan. There was a Gastly there who appeared to be very similar in his actions and general posture to the Town Fool. How strange. He looked down at his own Pokemon companion, a Scraggy. He looked as clueless as Tomas did. Thomas nodded, and turned round. He had no doubt that this place was very bizzare, and hopefully, the diary would help. He bent down to pick it up...

"OI, You!" shouted a voice. "WAKE UP! DINNER TIME!"

Thomas jumped. He woke up. He was in his Cabin on the S.S Lucy again. He paused for a moment. That dream had been... extremely weird. But for now, he had to forget it. Dinner time. That loud voice had obviously been Captain Lucian. So Thomas stood up and slowly made his way to the door. Little did he know just how important that dream would be...
