For some reason, I can't name my Bidoof Beaver. I don't see what's wrong with it.

You should watch "The Naked Gun". Okay it was a bit subtle there, but it's still surprising that got past the radar.

The Kangaskhan I was going to trade for was supposed to be named Penelope-SP, but that's banned too. I had it named Impa-SP as a spur of the moment choice...

If you want to nickname your Pokémon that has an O in it's name, you can easily bypass the censor. Just go to symbol, and choose the O. Porn is one of the censored words. Now, there's a Noibat somewhere in the world (Wonder Traded it) named POrnhub
There should be a .com on that nickname, but that would lead to a link. That's a big no-no

Some of these are very interesting.

I got a Vivillon over the GTS about a week ago that had the nickname "Cocaine" so apparently while we cannot give our pokemon nicknames that are swear words or contain wear words, nintendo is quite happy to allow us to name them after narcotic drugs. WTF?

Chaos Emperor

No hope.....
i though nintendo removed the censor on pokemon names. I remember hearing people couldnt trade cofagrigus over wifi, cause it has the word *** in its name, same with nosepass having the word *** in its name, so they had to remove the censor, or least be more lenient and not censor everything.

Okay, that's messed up. You can name a Pokemon Cocaine, but not Weed. Although, I did get around the latter by naming an Oddish Cannabis.

And yes, I remember back in Gen 5 not being able to trade a Herdier named Lassie over the GTS, all because "Lassie" contains "***". Come on, that's always my go-to name for a female canine Pokemon, and it makes perfect sense too.

Clearly we're great!
I tried to name my Snover "Pines" and it wouldn't let me. I'm assuming because it can sort of be rearranged to spell "penis" but still.

Other attempts--Furfrou couldn't be named "Peanuts" but it permitted "Peanut", and Beedrill couldn't be named "Buzzkill".

I didn't even know they had censors because I stopped nicknaming my Pokes after gen 3, but wow, they get a bit too specific, huh? Insane is censored? What even is this, Gamefreak?

Atome

Snowy Poochyena
I got a lvl 1 skitty over wonder trade named LilByach lol
Some of these censors though, weird.

That what I was going to say. It's nonsense to censor weed but not cocaine! I mean... Dear, pay attention to it and it's totally noticeable why one should be censored.
When I have my pokemon X/Y, I'll try to name a Swirlix "LSD", just to see if it is censored. Btw, it's a cool name.

Thanks to GF, now I can see everything with malicious eyes. Lassies contains ***, oh my god! Violet contains part of a french word that means rape, oh my god!

"Spike" for a Weedle

But then again, you can't put a Weedle up on the GTS without a nickname because it contains the word "weed". Then there's something that I found irritating as well.

I was playing around with the nickname entry screen, putting in random names here and there. When I bred myself a Poochyena in X, I tried to nickname it "Bite" but it kicked it back at me. I don't even get it, and yes I know it's a French word for "dick" but that doesn't even seem right, considering that it's its species name (Bite Pokemon), and that there's even a MOVE called Bite! Why would GF actually name a move after a censored word?

What happens if you try to put Gabite up on the GTS? Will it be kicked back at you?

The censor makes no sense because you can just get around it with a space or punctuation. Saw a Pokemon on GTS with the f-word just with a period and a space in the middle of the word.

Shenron the Dragonair.

I tried to name my Chespin "Spike". Seriously? after Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Spike Cannon, etc?
