I caught the Pokérus! Happiness!

I got it, only just noticed I had it, when I was at the pokémon centre. My 3 Zigzagoons and my Linoone caught it, and so did my Skarmory. My Gardevoir, who was either unconscious or in the first slot, didn't catch it. The zigzagoons/linoone are in my box with my best pokémon, I want this forever.

I've read about it spreading to your other pokémon, does this happen in battle or what? I want to know! I need to know! I'm currently EV training Gardevoir with Macho Brace, pokérus couldn't have come at a better time!

Also, should I trade a pokérus'd pokemon to colosseum forever, I heard it doesnt go away if it's in colosseum (but disappears normal time if traded back).

I know there's probably an FAQ about it, but I thought I might as well ask in my happiness thread.

Yeah, it spreads to the rest of your team when you battle. What you need to do is get two pokemon you will never use and let them catch it. Then place them in your box, they won't lose the Pokerus so you can trade it to your future games. Fun huh, as to the Collosseum idea, not sure I don't have it.

Well good for you. Seriously i am NOT trying to offend you but that sound like a newb(no offence). (I got it before rival battle 2 on Emerald.) Realy nearly nobody cares.

EDIT: and yes it spreads on R/S/E not sure about XD and Colo though and on FR/LG it doesn't spread or go away

Yay, congrats!! :D It's such a lucky find.

I still haven't caught PokéRus yet, but I'm hoping to get it soon :D

I got it however i use it never since i EVtrain never (i am planning to do soon)

I got a bit excited when I first got it, as I've never been this lucky in Pokémon (no lottery win, shiny, nothing) and I want to keep it for as long as possible, as behind shinies this is the rarest thing in the games isn't it?

n00b? No thanks, I'm the opposite. Just got excited.

EDIT: Yeah, you get it randomly from pokémon you battle.

It spreads to the pokemon closest to it in your party while walking/battling. The best way to spread it it to put one pokerus pokemon in the 2nd slot of ur party and another in your 5th slot.
Also, should I trade a pokérus'd pokemon to colosseum forever, I heard it doesnt go away if it's in colosseum (but disappears normal time if traded back). Pokemon versions Fire red, leaf green, XD, and colosseum all have no game clocks associated with them so any pokemon you trade to them will never loose pokerus. It also won't spread to other pokemon there as well so only trade them there as a last ditch to save the virus. Supposedly even if a pokemon looses the virus it still gains the benefit from it so the only reason to keep the virus around is for future spreading.

I got it to, and Iv'e spread it to about 30 or so Pokemon.

Thanks for the info DarkSpec, I've got my infected Skarm in slot #2, I'll grab a zigzagoon and put it in slot #5.

I obtained it in Ruby after about 823 hours... but i didn't know too much about it back then and i let it disappear, I hope I get it on my new Emerald File...

I have never gotten Pokerus and it should make EV training a breeze when it would only take 2 trips for my physical sweeper to the victreebel base for a boosted 144 points in attack just like that on top of 10 proteins and 1 mightyena or 2 poochyenas yet for the remainder that would be all.

i wish i could make myself a training base, i only have ruby/colo however, and 1 gba. I'll just keep at it at my main ev spots with macho brace and pokerus (as recommended by serebii's EV page), still 4x normal effort.
