SURPRISE BUTTSECKS
The change "GAMBLER" to "GAMER", and "soul" to "all" (pokemon tower channeler), but yet, they can talk about killing Pokemon (TR in Lavender Town). Here's my question: WHY!?
Censorship in this game is really, really strange. Anyone else pick up on this?

Not just GF, but also the TV networks. When I watch American TV I get trully overwelmed at the things they cut. America is supposed to be the land of the free, but American censorship is horrible. European censorship is practically non-existant. :p

I believe that's the dubbing talking. It's probably a machine, and their too lazy to go through every last detail, cause some of the stuff, mainly what you pointed out, is ridiculous.

Didn't they change 'enemy' in the first gen to 'foe' in the others? or am i goin' mental?:p i'm sure they used use that, like 'enemy rattata fainted'

They changed "enemy" to "foe." They changed "fight" to "battle." They changed "Gambler" to "Gamer." They changed "evil" to "malevolent" (or "us bad guys," in the case of Team Rocket). Etc...

Censorship is getting dumber and dumber.
Why the heck change from gambler to gamer.
They still haven't changed a few things at least (reminds me of a time I saw the word beer on a sign in a episode of Pokemon) .

There's also the possibility of those words not being suitable for younger children. Afterall, a majority of the people who play pokemon are around the range of 8-12 years old or younger, as opposed to a small fraction who are above that age.

Well, I can understand some words being unsitable for kids, but Changing Blacked Out to Whited Out was dumb. Evil to Malevolent....Do young kids even know what that means? Or even how to say it?

And Spirit.....wtf? I was lost on that one.

nintendo is kinda anoying me with these cencorships. actually, i should be blaming America. we worry too much about this sorta thing. (how is evil or ghost in a game worse than in a children's book?)
