Is it at all possible for a pokemon to spontaneously change gender? I know that's a weird question but I really think it happened to one of mine. I could have sworn it was female but now it's male. Help?

not at all. If that really happened to you, it was a side effect from a cheat, a glitch, or you just thought it happened and it really didn't.

Actually....while milling around on another thread I just found the answer.

hahaha, azurill sometimes go from female to male when they evolve.

It was an azurill who is now an Azumarill. I bet you anything that's what happened to me.
And it's because they have different gender ratios...or something. ;

haha that happened to me once, it kinda startled me but now its my surfer in sapphire

yeah, if you have a female azurill, there's a 1/3 chance that it'll evolve into a male marill, because 3/4 of azurill are female, but only 1/2 of marill are.
