I have solved the greatest mystery of Pokemon.

This theory is to prove that Cubone is related to Kangaskhan, and that Cubone is, indeed, just a different evolution of a Baby Kangaskhan. I thought of this in school, while working on some other theories; such as that Diglett and Oddish evolved from a common ancestor, that Scyther is a descendant of Kabutops, and that Aerodactyl is the ancestor of all modern Bird Pokemon and Charizard.

I submit that Cubone, along with Kangaskhan, are seperate evolutions from a common Baby Pokemon, whom I affectionately refer to as "Warllabe" (a combination of War and Wallaby, to go with Kangaskhan's name).

A Kangaskhan baby must be a seperate species, due to the fact that the baby looks different than the evolved form, which is common of all Baby Pokemon.

Warllabe would be a Baby Pokemon, who can evolve in two ways: into a Cubone, if its mother dies during birth, and it "Holds" the mother's "Skull" item (going along with the game's system); or it can evolve into a Kangaskhan when it is fully matured, much like any other Baby.

This theory is supported, I believe, in some strange similarities between the fully evolved forms of both branch: Marowak and Kangaskhan, which I've illustrated below.

As you can see in that link, the shape of the snout of both Pokemon is similar, as is the eye shape AND color, the shape of the end of the tail, the main toe, and the ear/horn/whatever that is.

In conclusion, a Baby Kangaskhan, whom I refer to as Warllabe, can either evolve normally, or into a Cubone when its mother dies, and it "Holds" the "Skull".

Of course, I didn't even bother to take the Pokedex entries into consideration in the preceding theory, but only because the Pokedex entries of the R/B/Y generation can sometimes contradict the newer Pokedex versions (the Pokedex is, after all, still a work-in-progress).

Yay for looking too much into things.

It's a good theory....

Well, if this "Warllabe" you talking 'bout will evolve into either Cubone or Kangaskhan, why is the size of the two different? They should be of equal of size or even a little similar in size to be related.

Very good. I like the logic in your thiory. You have "Hand Toss". (Clarification.com) But good.
So tell me this please. If only a few fossles where found what happened to all the other prehistoric pokemon?

Hey now, I already made a theory explaning everything about the baby in Kangaskhan's pouch, and it has no room for the likes of Cubone. (Really though, its pouch is way too tight for Cubome to fit in. Besides, Cubone is tan, but the Kangaskhan baby is purple.)

i think u get a cubone when a baby kangashan loses it mother and it wears its skull then evolves into cubone

somewhat backwards.
I actually quite like the theory, it's the only thing I've seen that explains why all Cubone's mothers are dead. Doesn't really fit with Kangaskhan though.
Sudden thought. What happens if the baby is male, and its mother doesn't die? You don't get male Kangaskhans, not in the games.

Then how did it gain the extra limb? That's kinda hard to grow you know ;/

I like how this explains why you never see a baby Kangaskhan without its Mother. so kudos for that one.

Oh, I gotta say I have some problems here First, their faces look NOTHING alike. You circled their snouts, but you can see Marrowaks snout is much sharper than 'Kangaskhan's. The horns are clearly not on the same place, as the horns of Marrowwak look erect on it's head, while Kangaskhan's seems to run parralel to the head. Kangaskhan has 2 extra nails, So I don't understand why you've circled those.

In conclusion, a Baby Kangaskhan, whom I refer to as Warllabe, can either evolve normally, or into a Cubone when its mother dies, and it "Holds" the "Skull"

The Pokedex is the one that claims Cubone wears the skull of its mother, something which I don't believe ;/ so now You're contradicting yourself.

But still, it was all very clever, and fun to read. Not flawless though, but seriously, what is? :3

Man, some people have too much time on their hands...interesting theory though.

Its a good theory, like some people think that Tauros and Miltank will have the same pre-evo (if they ever get one)

Apprantely the guy who made Pokemon has already created hundreds of them. One of the ones still not revealed could be a cross pre-evo of Cubone/Kangaskhan. You just have to wait and see.

Despite the similarities and and the good amount of thought you put into I dont actually think it will happen
