Today I just realized ive been playin pokemon wrong for like 6 years Ive been challenging Koga before Sabrina

since you are able to, i'm guessing that doing it "correctly" or doing it "incorrectly" have no effect on the game.

Yes, that's how supposed to be. Sabrina has more powerful Pokémon (their levels are higher than Koga's) and it's crucial that you fight Koga first. Sabrina is too powerful (unless your Pokémon's levels are higher than Koga's).

Um, why was there a thread based upon this minute question? It's kinda weird. It's almost like the "Ouch" thread that was created awhile ago...

it doesnt matter in which order you battle them but you have to beat the sliph building to beat sabrina so.........

Koga is 5th, Sabrina is 6th.

Besides, Pokemon isn't stricly linear, you don't have to beat the Gym Leaders in an exact order. I usually leave Lt Surge until 7th.

What are you talking about? Sabrina is 6 and Koga is 5. Are you talking about Erica(4th and Grass)?

Not where I am. It's always Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Sabrina, Koga, Blaine, and Giovanni.

Looking at the type adventages of the Gym Leaders, it's clear that Koga comes before Sabrina:
Rock<Water<Electric<Grass<Poison<Psychic=Fire (the one exception)<Ground

If it would have been the other way around, it would have been ruined.

Thre is not a set path you can choose which gym leaders you want to face.

I did it the way Ash did it in the Anime. I think it went Brock, Misty, Surge, Erika, Sabrina, Koga, Blaine, Giovanni. I think that's the way the ranks are listed on these forums.

I used to do it the Sabrina>Koga way, but then tried doing it the other way. It's much easier, and I got to go to Seafoam to get a Seel and have a Dewgong in Silph!
