I just thought of something

If Super Smash Bros Brawl uses the Gamecube controller and Wii Mote. Doesnt that mean 8 player gameplay?

Maybe - but so far in the video we saw 4 characters fighting eachother. If they do 8 Player it might get too complicated.

Smash is way to hectic for that many players in my opinion. It seems as though they would limit it to four max, just with choice of controllers.

No. Two controllers can't be supported by the same controller port. Yes, the Wiimote is wireless, but the system recognizes it as "Controller 1".

True,(and though I think it is going to be limited to four players). With Wifi you maybe able to play 5 or more people because the people through Wifi are not connected to your console via controller. ;025;

Actually, you can do up to 64, maybe 128 in Brawl, through Tournament mode. It's not simultaneous though.

You can't. Has anyone noticed that the Wiimote (and GC Controller for that matter) has only 4 channals. That means four players max.

Aww... Crap.
The game only uses the GCN controller anyways.

*I think, someone will have to back me up on this.*

No, it also uses the Classic controller. Do you really think that Nintendo would force you to buy controller for the last gen Gamecube just to play Brawl? That would murder sales. :p

The "standard" Wii controller is named the GCN controller, dispite its few differences. You can use the ones from last generation or buy new ones that will be made.

I recall someone saying that there might be a Wiimote control scheme for it too.
