I know Snorlax is the Sleeping Pokemon, but this is just ridiculous!

Alright, this was long ago. I was getting a team together to beat Giovanni in Yellow (not saying much because I only trained Pidgeot and nothing else!), and my team was something like this;

Pidgeot lv. 60
Snorlax lv. 30
Tauros lv. 28
Squirtle lv. 10
Charmander lv. 10
Pikachu lv. 14

So I was walking to the gym, and I decide to check on my Pokemon. And I had just healed them ,mind you! So I look at my Pokemon- Snorlax is fast asleep! I was all WTF?! I used the Pokeflute, Snorlax woke up, i attempted to whoop Giovanni's behind, gave up ten battles later becasue Rhydon's Rock Slide kept KOing Pidgeot. And my other Pokemon were no match for it, of course.

But why did Snorlax just randomly fall asleep like that? A glitch? If so, it's a very coincidential glitch; I mean, it just HAPPENED to affect Snorlax, the sleeping Pokemon! Programmed in the game? Never saw anything in the guidebooks about this happening! What are your thoughts on this?

Random glitch. R/B/Y did weird stuff to your game all the time.

Yeah, but this seems a bit too coincidential. I mean, it happened to make Snorlax, of all Pokemon, randomly fall asleep. If it were Tauros, or Pidgeot, or any non-snorlax Pokemon I had with me, i'd go with the random glitch theory. I mean, in the anime Snorlax is always asleep. And this game does go with the anime...

That's what I was saying. But yeah. It's understandable why MM thought it might've been a part of the game's programming. Or something. Consider the rep of Snorlax.

Could it not be the case you caught it when it was asleep?
;143;:

Wild Snorlax apeared!
MM used Master Ball!
Wild Snorlax caught!
Giovanni send out Rhydon!
MM:Go Snorlax!

Also when you store any pokemon on the pc in RBY it doesnt heal it self

Someone writing to a UK pokemon magazine had the same problem, I think.

Either already asleep, or a glitch.

;003;I think it really is a Glicth;003;

It's just one of those things. It's only a coincidence.

I would say you either caught it when it was asleep or this is a very coincidental glitch,either way it doesn't really matter,it did wake up right.

Yeah, I played my Pokeflute and it woke up striaght away. Not that there was much use for it, as it went down as easily as my other Pokemon did once Rhydon had taken out Pidgeot. To this day, my blood boils when I see a Rhydon use Rock Slide.

I don't know!
Had you used GS/AR?

Well with any other pokemon I'd just call it a glith, but with THE sleeping pokemon... It just makes me wonder...

It was nothing but luck that made that snorlax asleep instead of the others.
i would call it BAD luck( until SLEEP TALK/SNORE was released there was nothing good about a sleeping pokemon)
