I miscounted EV's

I thought I brought my Sceptile to a full 252 Sp. Att./252 Speed/6 Sp. Def. But according to the lady next to the Energy Guru, I still have more to get. Which leads me to believe I screwed up somewhere (which wouldn't surprise me one bit).

Anyways, is there any way i can find where the problem lies and fix it? I Know my Special Attack IV, but my Speed IV can be anywhere from 20-31.

feed it EV berries in everything except SAtk and Spd. then fight get a bunch more EVs in those two stats, and make sure they're maxed out. at this point, they should have 255 SAtk/Spd. feed it an EV berry each for SAtk and Spd, and EV train it for 8 more EVs in each. at this point, you'll have 253 in each, and you can put the last 4 EVs in another stat.

That won't be neccesary, since i already have 6 EV's in Special Defense. It was the first thing I did. I just need tio make sure I don't go over 252 in Speed or Special Attack

Well, the best way to do that, I think, is this: Get as many Special Attack EV's as you can. Then, use a berry to get rid of 10. Now, get 7 more EV's. Get as many Speed EV's as you can have. Done.

I'd say use a berry on both speed and sp. attack. Max out your special attack. Feed it another berry to lower it's special attack. Fight to get 7 sp. attack IV's. Fight until your speed is full. That should work..... I think.

Since you have 6 Sp Def it's impossible to make a mistake. Just get some EVs in Speed and Special Attack. Your counting can't be very off, so you should have to get a few EVs in the two stats.

It seems that when I went up a level, it was enough. I believe that either I was a few off, as soccerplayer said, or the last ones didn't register until the next level.

And you can miscount, and be left with 255/249/6, for example.

that's why you then feed it a berry in the stat you're sure you maxed out, and get 7 EVs in that stat again. then max out the other one.

Well, everything seems to be alright now. I won't know if they're unbalanced, and I'll probably never know. But since it has Full EV's, and I won't breed another one (Since the Treecko will be Dragon Claw-less), we can stop posting, and mods can lock it.

Hey Xtra, just a little note, your EVs only ever up your stats following a level up (hence why you cant EV train when at level 100), only Carbos etc upgrade ur stats without levelling up

And so it makes sense that your EV training didnt 'register' as you put it until you Levelled up

mostly true, but not completely. your EVs are noted, but they don't get added in until a) you use a vitamin on that stat, b) you level up, or c) you deposit the pokemon in the PC. the reason why it's impossible to EV train at level 100 is because getting EVs is tied to gaining EXP, and level 100s don't get any experience, so they don't get EVs. in previous generations (such as G/S/C) level 100s still gained EXP, so the so-called "box trick" still worked.

I meant that once you get the EV Ribbon you can be sure that you haven't miscounted.

I always thought that the lady would give you a ribbon if you level up the pokemon to Lv.100. I didn't know it had to do with EV's. Try increasing the EV's with the vitamins (Protien, Calcium,Ect.).If that doesn't work, then use a bunch of berrys that increase your pokemon's happiness, and lower certain EV's. Unfortunatally, sometimes the berry won't lower the pokemon's EV's, but the pokemon's Happiness will still increase.

Sorry for going off topic, but what's that got to do with anything? Judge people as people, niot by religion. If he was part of the Muslim Alliance, the Buddhist alliance or the Sikh alliance would that change your viewpoint of him/her? That is the most horrible, biased thing I have ever read on here. Religion has nothing to do with how nice a person is.
