I need help with my wireless

On my old router, Belkin, I couldn't keep myself connected online. I would be in the middle of an online battle then BAM! I would get an error and the connection would be lost.

I recently upgraded to TRENDnet TEW-12DRU. For the first five days, I had no issues and could stay online indefinitely. Now, I get "connection failed" issues anywhere from a few minutes in to twenty minutes in.

I have tried everything. I set up an IP address for my 3ds and opened all the necessary ports, tried DMZ, and even tried sittng directly next to the router, but no luck.

I don't know what has changed since the time I was able to stay connected, but I am at my wits end, please help me!

There might be a timeout option on the router or cable modem that may need to be set to never expire when DHCP IPs (192.168.2.x) are leased to your wireless hardware.

Also try to make your router a Static IP to your Modem so that the main local IP address (192.168.1.x) to connect to the WAN from the router doesn't change and connectivity wouldn't get lost as often.
