How 'bout... JUST NOT PUT UP ANY MORE POLLS ABOUT IT.
Seriously, the only two anime series that I saw in either of the two polls (which was just the last one) that I feel should even be CONSIDERED as POSSIBLE candidates for the best anime created were Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion (and the original Mobile Suit Gundam series if you were referring to that instead of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, which I doubt you were).
Seriously, I'm sure that I'm coming off as arrogant when I say this, but just stop. We already have a 'Top Ten Favorite Anime' thread in which people state their favorite anime series/movies/OAVs. When we're dealing with a forum that has members who have seriously limited knowledge of truly good quality anime and manga series, then just don't involve them in this. If they believe that Naruto has one of the deepest storylines in all of manga and anime, you know that there is a problem. It's the same problem when you see teens who are into nu-metal talk only about Linkin Park nd yet have never heard of bands such as Cold, Sevendust, and Nothingface.
I mean, you're not going to even consider including Fooly Cooly simply because you've never heard of it. What if you were in charge of deciding what was good and decided that Judas Priest is crap because you've never heard of them? It doesn't work that way. Everyone has their preferences, and to limit it like that is insulting to the genre as a whole.
I'll probably get ignored and probably even targeted by saying this, but I don't honestly care. To me, it's the same as when I ask a kid what the funniest movie they have ever seen is and they say Napolean Dynamite, and then I ask them if they have ever seen something like Dr. Strangelove and they say, "OMG, that's sounds fuggin gay." See how that works?
