Yes, nine new, five old. The old that will be in the game are obviously Snorlax, Mr. Mime, Sudowoodo, Sneazle, and Mantine.
Not necessarily. It's
possible that we may need to trade Snorlax in from FR/LG/XD and breed to get Munchlax. I doubt GF would be that mean, but it's a possibility. We know
NOTHING of the Pokémon we will find in D/P; only the newly designed, fourth-generation Pokémon which we will be able to own in D/P.
Under my "time hypothesis" (note the word, hypothesis), D/P can be one of three things:
-A "true" sequel to Ruby/Sapphire
-G/S/C remakes
-Something totally new with no past regions accessible.
The first is unlikely considering the new Pokémon related to existing lines, thus far, are all related to First- and Second-gen lines; no Third-. Their style (excluding possibly Parrap) isn't at all tropical, either.
It's a commercial disaster to start a new "product cycle," which Pokémon generations can be thought of in terms of, without introducing many new features, so G/S/C remakes are out of the question as well. (though maybe later

)
This leaves us with them being something totally new with no connections to existing regions. There can't be any connections to Kanto/Johto since G/S/C is going on in there. If my time hypothesis is correct, this means that we will be getting G/S/C remakes; just not first thing.
