Kind of hard to get a team rated without movesets...

Okay here are my pokemons movesets:

Typhlosion-Mud-Slap, Flamethrower, Cut and Flame Wheel.
Victreebel-Razor Leaf, Flash, Sludge Bomb and Sleep Powder.
Rocky-Rock Smash, Headbutt, Strength and Earthquake.
Gyrados-Surf, Waterfall, Hyper Beam and Whirlpool.
Xatu-Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Giga Drain and Fly.

Happy now?

Hey, I was just pointing out something. Please don't get all sarcastic with me.

First off, Xatu blows. Get an Alakazam. Another general principle- Every single HM move except for Surf royally sucks. Don't use any except Surf, if you're planning to take that team online or battle against friends or something similar. Also, Return > Hyper Beam in any way, shape, or form, because you can't switch/do anything else on the recharge turn, whereas your opponent could switch something in for free while you're recharging. Great set on Victreebel, except for Flash of course. If you can get your hands on another Giga Drain TM, use it on Bel, otherwise keep Razor Leaf, and drop Flash for Swords Dance (with RBY TM 03, IIRC). Drop everything on Typhlosion for Fire Blast, Thunderpunch, Earthquake, and Attract/MAYBE Sunny Day. Watch out for using that in combo with Gyarados, though. For Onix, evolve it into Steelix if you can. Before you evolve it though, trade it back to an RBY cart if you can and teach it Explosion. Put that and Curse and Rock Slide over everything except Earthquake. Here's a fun Gyarados set for in-game:

Gyarados@Focus Band/Miracleberry
Icy Wind
Endure
Flail
Hydro Pump

Icy Wind to lower their speed, then the traditional EndFlail combo.

For Alakazam, your set should look something like this:

Alakazam@leftovers
Psychic
Elemental punch
Reflect/HP Dark
Recover

Double-Edge

Rising Trainer
Typhlosion@Leftovers
Fire Blast
Earthquake
Thunderpunch
Toxic/Sunny Day

Victreebel@Leftovers
Razor Leaf
Sludge Bomb
Sleep Powder.
Swords Dance

Rocky@Leftovers
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Curse
Explosion

Gyrados@Leftovers
Curse
Return/Double Edge
Fire Blast
Body Slam/Dragonbreath

Xatu@Leftovers
Confuse Ray
Night Shade
Giga Drain
Psychic

Victreebel-Razor Leaf, Flash, Sludge Bomb and Sleep Powder. Ok, a different strategy. I would choose Synthesis-Sleep Powder-Giga Drain-Sludge Bomb
Rocky-Sandstorm, Swagger, Explosion and Earthquake.
Gyrados-Surf,Thunderbolt, Ice Beamand Earthquake/Body Slam.
Xatu-Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Giga Drain and Drill Peck.

Happy now?

Some of my suggestions require RBY or Pokémon Stadium 2

Absol!

Sea Ruby Trainer
Mud-slap Typhlosion? Give it Earthquake for Rock and Electric-types, Fire Blast/Flamethrower for Steel, Grass and Bug-types, Thunderpunch for Flying and maybe Sunny Day. Wouldn't reccomend it, though.

Ha, my Typhlosion is at level 96, but I like your team. Why don't you give Typhlosion rollout.

To those of you who have berated me (excluding you Max Bauman) I'll have you know I beat the Elite 4 over 6 times with this team!

So? that doesn't make you the second strongest Gold trainer. Hell, I doubt you are in the top fifty. it doesn't take much skill to beat the elite four after youve already beaten them. They wern't berating you by the way, they were offering sugestions. No need to get all snappy at them. He was right BTW, any Alakazam, or even a decent Kadabra can own Xatu in every way.On Typhlosion, whom appears to be your leader, there are no defensive moves unless you count mud slap, which is… well… worthless to a level sixty-four. Your teams types need a lot more diversity, as a decent Geodude could, typewise, take them all out. They are all weak to either Ground or Rock type attacks. At the very least, change that. appart from Earthquake, all of Rocky's moves ( i almost said movies lol) suck, and suck bad. try reading the sugestions, instead of getting all defensive.

Typhlosion-Earthquake, Flamethrower, Thunderpunch and Double-team?

Victreebel-Gigadrain?, Solarbeam, Sludge Bomb and Sleep Powder.

Onix-Rock Slide, Headbutt, Iron Tail and Earthquake.

Gyrados-Surf, Ice beam, Hyper Beam and Iron tail?

Xatu-Confuse Ray, Psychic, Giga Drain and Fly, and try to fit in Ice beam
Bolds are changes that I have made. Xatu is decent, but there are better choices. Alakazam is highly recommended. I would suggest Lapras instead of Gyrados, evolve Onix, and never give a Pokemon more than TWO damage moves of the same type. Gyrados is a mess up with its current move set, so try my choices. I shall also add, that you7 need a sixth Pokemon. You should have 6 always after 4 badges. I would suggest an Electric type to go with your team.

That is not special.

Beat the elite 4 with a team of level 40's, that takes some skill.

Beat the Elite with one Pokémon at level 50. That's harder, and I nearly done it.

Yeah, that was a really baddly-planned team. Two moves of the same type on one Pokémon? And yeah, there are better Psychics out there. Even Wigglytuff is better than Xatu.

Cover all your bases and make sure that your team could handle any challange. And the Elite are really easy to beat after the first time. Unless you use Pidgey and Caterpie...

No really, 1 at 50 is easy (just get something with reasonable movepool and PP restores).

Altmer

breathe, spit, walk
pokemon beats pokemon with move

also I beat the elite 4 with half-arsed lvl 40 Pokemon whenever I try it, go on NB and THEN see if you are a good gsc'er.

Oh teh noes!1112one
I beat the elite four only using my Lv 49 Feraligatr.

Using a cheap number of Ethers, Revives, and Full Restores.
