I think I have a shiny Noctowl.

Congratz to you! ^^ I chaught my first shiney last year. It was a Seal. Now it's a Dewgong. 
(If you're not really sure if it's a shiney just let it out in a battle and see if when it's released out of the ball if it sparkles. (shines, whatever XD)

My first shiny was a Hoppip. Now its a PURPLE yes I said PURPLE Jumpluff!!! CONGRATZ TO YOU! I love shiny's and really don't care about the moves.

Shiny Noctowl actually seems to have a lighter chest than the regular Noctowl, and the whole body has a yellower tinge. If you're 'thinking' your Noctowl is shiny, probably not. You'd know for sure if it was one because of the shiny animation when it is sent out into battle.

Does it have two orbs circling it when you release it on the battle field?
Look at its sprite. Does it look like the shiny sprite for the 3D games?

If u r not sure Trade it to R/s/e/fr/lg and see if it is the same color as a normal one congrats if it is shiny though
