Why post this in RSE section? You could've gotten Volbeat from an Illumise egg, yannow. I didn't do this before I searched countless hours for Volbeat in Ruby.

No, that isn't true. You can catch a Volbeat, or you can breed and Illumise.

In Emerald, Illumise appear way more often than Volbeat (which might be the game stigy is referring to).

In Emerald, I don't know because I just traded over the Pokemon from previous advanced games to Emerald ^..^

I never bothered with finding Volbeat or Illumise in the first place; I think they are loathsomely ugly and devoid of any uniqueness whatsoever. There only useful for getting Signal Beam on Ariados or Yanma; but since Ariados already has a massive movepool to be exploited, and Yanma is still merely a watered-down crap version of Ninjask no matter what moves it has, even that's hardly worth it.

Well, though people may loathe it, you can't complete the Pokedex without it (which many Pokemon put you through similar trouble).

Yeah, they could've at least created either Volbeat or Illumise, we have enough Bug/Flying as it is.
