Idea for Donphan.

Anyone think that maybe ashs donphan will evole into a 4th generation. Why else would he take that pokemon out instead of all the others when he goes to BF. Anyone else think this?

Well, it's possible. But it would completely cheapen Phanpy's return. If we had it complete its purpose just to become a D/P ad... :/

The writers brought Phanpy back because Ash got it so late in Johto and he barely did anything with it before he dumped it at Oaks. The writers realized their mistake which is why they brought it back for the BF region. It doesn't get that much more complicated than that.

Not to mention that Donphan's *already* a powerhouse pokemon as is, with a base stat total of 500 in the games(240 of those points being evenly distributed among PA and PD). There's really no reason to give it an evolution in D/P. Now if only they'd give one to Magcargo...

I think they brought it back because it had so little time in Johto as other's said. Not mention Ash has been in need of a strong Ground Type in some of his battles.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Donphan is a perfect Pokemon as it is: it's a powerhouse, with lots of strong ground moves, and has possibly the best design of ANY Pokemon currently existing.
Although a Donphan evolution would be a great way of incorparating a wooly mammoth Pokemon, which I've always wanted to see.....

Donphan doesn't need another evolution...we may be suprised with a pre-vo (I sure hope not). Then again, they have been showing Donphan a lot recently (first the Hoenn filler, then in the league on Tetsuya's team, then Ash withdrew his Phanpy and from there it evolved...)

I severely doubt it to be honest, if any of Ash’s pokemon are destined to have a 4th gen evolution, it’ll be Torkoal because it’s in dire need.

I agree, Cortoise could do with an evolution.

When Satoshi withdrew Gomazou, I was sure that there was going to be a 4th Gen evolution for it, but when I saw what Donfan could do, I lost that urge. Think about it, it knows Hyper Beam, and hopefully will still use Earthquake. That with Take Down and a possibly reccurence of Hidden Power and it's a pretty powerful Pokémon as it is. And with Donfan, Ohsubame, Juptile (possible Jukain) and Pikachu and Heigani, Satoshi has a pretty strong team that is full of powerful non-baby types with cool moves.

Hopefully it still knows earthquake but, I doubt it still knows hidden power. It knows hyper beam, roll out, and takedown. I hope it remembers earthquake. Torkoal does need an evolution..... maybe Ash will use it more then. Anyway I dont think Donphan needs an evolution but, if it does get an evolution the writers should have it evolve.

It would be a shame if the writers forgot Donphan had Earthquake, (unless they have Ash teach it the move AGAIN, lol) because it'd be awesome to see.

Torkoal could use an evolution I suppose, it's the only one of Ash's Pokemon (including all the ones at Oaks) that may have a new form. (that isn't a pre-evolution like Munchlax/Snorlax)
