Ideas you’re shocked never happened in pokemon history

One thing I do think could have made these types a lot easier to be elite 4 members would be if some of them got a pseudo legendary pokemon. It surprises me we've only ever had 1 game introduced 2 pseudo-legendary Pokemon at the same time and its never happened again. The closest we've had is Archaludon (which isn't technically a pseudo legendary but is the same stat total) which was only in the 2nd DLC or Hisuian Goodra (which was added the same generation as dragapult but not the same game). Most of the ones added have been dragon type as well and while dragon type is cool i'd like a bit more variety so that at least one added in a region is not dragon type to balance things out.
In all honesty I wouldn’t be that surprised if they have not intention of introducing another non Dragon type Psuedo Legendary mon until after they go through all the type combinations with Dragon.

So at worst we’ve probably got about 10 more generations of Dragon type Psuedo Legendaries before they hopefully start getting into more non Dragon type Psuedo Legendary lines.

And when it comes to cover legendary trios they seem pretty insistent on having at least one member of the trio being part Dragon type.

Would I love to be wrong and we get a Psuedo Legendary line in gen 10 that isn’t part Dragon type and that it also gives us are first cover legendary trio where none of the members are part Dragon type? Yes, I would but I don’t really have that much hope that, that would actually happen.

Never seeing Ash's dad, yeah, I still feel like in the final episode it should have happened.

Also surprised we have never gotten the identity of the Pokemon on the Gym Statute. Because it's not Rhydon, at least, I don't think it is. They appear again in the Wild Zone gates. It's an unknown Pokemon, I just want to know what it is.

Possible. They've only diverted from the type in 1 and a half generations. Saying half because the same gen that got us Metagross also got a retread of the same typing as Dragonite...and I mean there's a lot of creative avenues to go with Dragon/Flying, this is also the gen that gave us Altaria and Rayquaza

Deku's dad is in the same boat

Quite possible. But I stiil live in hope (though not expectation) that they will add another pseudo that isn't dragon (even if they do the metagross thing and add it in the same region as a dragon pseudo) as they have added 2 dragon/flying so I would not rule out them doubling up on types again (but I hope not).

Legendary Pokemon being dragon type bothers me a lot less (as by this point we have a legendary Pokemon of most types). If bug got a legendary Pokemon and it ended up part dragon I could be onboard with that. It does surprise me we haven't an outright legendary bug yet (we've had a mythical, a paradox and ultra beasts).

You do get to see it in Pokémon origins. Though there is looks more feline than it does in-game. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_disputed_and_unidentified_Pokémon#In_the_games

It does surprise me they never decided to base a Pokemon on those statues (could have made for some interesting lore)

Another idea I’m surprised hasn’t been used as the concept of a Pokémon are spell books that are possessed by a Ghost Pokémon. It’d be creative to say the least and the books don’t have to necessarily have scary faces on the covers of their books.

Agree completely. Personally I'd have it be an alternative evolution of Shuppet (as i've always though shuppet must be able to possess other things than just children's toys to evolve. But a new Pokemon would also work. It especially seems odd given we have a ghost specialist who is an author.

Also from Pokemon Masters I am shocked that serval trainers have never appeared there yet despite multiple years of the game. Like Byron, Drayden and Juan. They aren't exactly new and they have ties to existing characters.

If you mean a Grimoire type Pokémon with big teeth and a wicked tongue, yes we’re missing that. If you mean books as in items that Ghost-type Pokémon randomly carry…

I just so happen to think they should have a Ghost move specific held item that raises the base power of Ghost moves 60 base power or lower by 1.5x. Essentially, Technician for things like Astonish, Lick, Shadow Sneak, and Shadow Punch, etc. Originally, I was thinking of calling it “Poe Soul”, but Grimoire would definitely fit.

No. I’m thinking more of a floating book that has ghostly glowing hands hold the spell book in the air and will occasionally turn pages as if the hands are looking for a specific spell. Imagine Cofagrigus’ Hands and arms except glowing and a bluish white

I am surprised that they haven't ever added a Sawk and Throh equivalent to Tyrogue. If for no other reason than so they can add egg moves between sawk and throh similar to what they can do with the Hitmons (who do have shared egg moves).

The fact that we still do not have a "Legends" type of game with the past of Johto surprises me.

The region is perfect for a spin-off in its past.

Yeah admittedly I did think that they might do that as the follow up to legends Arceus (mainly due to the idea that they could save a bit of time reusing some assets as Johto and sinnoh have some similarities ). My guess is they decided against it as they knew champions was coming out (and thought more megas would be helpful) and/or they wanted at least one legends game not set in past so people didn't assume all legends games had to be in the past. I would not be surprised if the next legends game is set in Johto, as legends celebi is an easy concept for a game set in a different time period.
