Contrary to Iris being boy-crazy, I imagine her like young Goku from Dragonball who wasn't attracted to girls at all until the end of Dragonball and the beginning of Z. So Iris probably won't be boy crazy but that is a funny thought.
Then again, maybe she'll fall in love with Ash but Ash won't love her back and there's a subplot featuring Iris trying to win Ash's heart. It's possible but it's up to the writers.

The thing similar so far is Dento is in fact a Gym Leader like Brock. And even more similar being the first. I'm excited to see this play off, but I wouldn't really care if he's gonna be copying Brock's gag. Iris however would be pretty interesting to see her flirting with boys.

@_@ I'd rather him not flirt at all if that were to happen and I wouldnt enjoy any bit of it! I was thinking it'd be cool to see Dento flirt or girls flirt with him but now i dont think it'd be so great
Though him being charmed by females is okay but just as long as its not all the time/every episode.
