If humans were Pokémon...

If humans were Pokémon...

Well, here's a random question whose answers I want from you lot, inspired from something which, apparently, came from a DP translation.

For now, suspend your disbelief and pay attention to these sentences.

What if, in the Pokémon world, humans were actually Pokémon, having evolved from a certain Pokémon instead of animals like we did?

Would this mean eating Pokémon is as acceptable as a Tyranitar eating a Mareep? Would human/Pokémon relationships be less 'ZOMG!BESTIALITY!!111' and more 'black person marries white person'? Would this change anything in trainer/Pokémon relationships? Would Pokémon actually try to train other Pokémon?

If you guys have any questions, please ask. Later...

If humans were pokemon I think it would be a lot like pokemorphs, and in that case training over pokemon would just be silly IMHO :p

Well technically from an irl stand point, scientists say we are evolved from apes, and as you see, it is still beastiality. So yes, it would still be beastiality as the higher being as more will and etc and is forcing it onto a poor dumb animal.

Orange Flaaffy, humans use horses and raise cattle ;/

and more 'black person marries white person'?

... that sounds so racial :/ I mean you could have put effort into it and say something like, would it be less of beastiality and more of hatred for being different species?

Anyways, seriously Seko, if you base it off irl, it would still apply, the same things that happen irl, would apply to the pokemon world, as with how you're going, it would still be the same. People would be pro eating pokemon, and against eating. People would be pro/anti EVERYTHING. Not all pro, not all anti, not all this not all that.

Ok, lets say we evovled from Mankey and we were normal humans aside from pig noses.

Question One:
I don't see why it's not acceptable if humans arent Pokemon (which makes no sense anyways, if there are no other animals and Pokemon take their place entriely) I'm sure people in the Pokeverse love their Miltank burgers.

Question Two:
Bad, bad analogy. A black person and white person are of the same race, with different skin pigmentation. The Pokemon equivalent is a Shiny and a normal Pokemon, not a Pikachu and a Mr. Mime. Bestiality, I believe, is out of species intercourse where a human is involved. Thats like wondering if a human and a monkey having sex is bestiality. Nothings changed in your scenario that would make anything different.

Question Three:
Why would it? Humans are still more creative/smart, it doesn't matter that they've evolved from apes or primeapes. If we assume that their are no animals in the Pokeverse and thier place is taken by Pokemon, then humans like I said previously are technicaly Pokemon just as we are technically animals.

Question Four:
If another Pokemon species met the qualifications, then nothing is stopping it from training other Pokemon. If 'Pokemon' denotes inferiority, then all a Pokemon species would have to do is disassosciate itself from the derogatory blanket assosciation, to be acceptable. Basicaly, humans will draw a line between us and them, where them is the Pokemon, even if they share common ancestry. To not be taboo, a Pokemon would have to join them on the other side of the line or create a line of their own in which Humans are included in the other side. Even if a species doesnt do that, theirs no reason an extraordinary Pokemon that proves itself capable couldn't train, as long as humans and Pokemon arent denying them the right rascistly.

About the ambiguos DP tranlation: What is it? Humans are pokemon?

I meant more of if humans had the powers of pokemon as well. I dunno, it has become a mark of bad pokemorph fic that said characters still go to gyms with normal pokemon, battle and are treated just how they were before they were morphic. Basically, the pokemon level of anime catgirls/boys
aka the pokemon factor does nothing but make them look cool and give them tails and a 'nya' now and again.

I can see how if all humans are from ape pokemon and humans no longer have any powers it would work, but then it would be really no different than the pokemon word is now:p

Well, if you were to throw a Pokéball at a human, could they get caught? That's not rhetorical; I truly unaware whether canon has addressed this or not.

See, I'm picturing a penitentiary in the Pokéverse which is just a pantry lined with Pokéballs that have been painted with horizontal white and black stripes. ^^;

Psychic

Really and truly
Okay, so humans are a species of Pokémon in that world.
We're a species of animal in this world.

So in theory nothing would really change. In this world, we keep dogs, cats, hampsters, rabbits, mice, fish, reptiles and birds as pets. In the Pokémon world, humans keep over 400 species of Pokémon and train them.
Does an animal, even a powerful one like a tiger, keep a human as a pet?
So should an Aggron be able to train a human?

Even if they were considered Pokémon in that world, humans still seem more intelligent than them, just like we seem* more intelligent than animals. Hence we keep animals in zoos and they enter Pokémon in contests.

A human having sex with an animal, despite us being animals, is still Beastiality because we are of different species. Even if humans are Pokémon, if one had sex with a Blaziken, it still is Beastiality, because a human isn't a Blaziken.

I still don't think a Pokémon would have the mental capacity to think up strategies to use to help train Pokémon of other species. That's why they have human trainers- a human can think of ways for different Pokémon to do different things, and they treat different Pokémon, well, differently.
Even if a human was a Pokémon, it wouldn't make a difference- it's just one very smart Pokémon training less smart ones, but who are stronger. You have lion tamers who train lions to do tricks, even though the lions can still rip the human's head off.

So I still disagree with the plot of your old RP where humans started training other humans, if you were wondering. o_O All humans have more-or-less "equal" intelligence, but it differs more with Pokémon. So still, a Breloom shouldn't exactly try to train a Dragonite.

*Of course, who's to say for certain that humans truely are the smartest animals? Douglas Adams, author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, seems to think we're only the third smartest animals- the top two having been mice and dolphins. Despite this being complete fiction, who knows- maybe some animals are smarter than we are? And maybe some Psychic types, like Alakazam, are more intelligent than humans. Hmmm, thought-provoking.

In a way, Psychic have a point.

Pokemon are, as a whole, unthinking or mostly unthinking animals with powers. They're cool-looking magical animals... but they are animals, regardless.

As such, the human/Pokemon relationship remain bestiality, Pokemon might not have what it take to be trainers, and all that.

BUT... and this is pretty huge but...

It is also canon that many Pokemon have an intelligence close/equal to that of humans. Also, many Pokemon have the ability to "Awaken", becoming sentient or already being sentient (but mostly ruled by instincts). Pokemon who break free of their instincts and assume their sentience are so similar to humans, it's scary.

At such a point, where the main point of bestiality (sentient being abuse non-sentient being) disappear, the line begin to blur. A human that take advantage of a random Mankey is obviously bestiality. But what about a human and a sentient Pokemon, one that is basically human in terms of intelligence, behaviour, and thoughts? The line begin to blur here... which can bring about countless taboos and interesting cases.

Finally, let's face it ; sugar-coated canon or not, trainers are ready to do disgusting things to increase the size of their Pokemon collection... and if the humans were to be recognized as Pokemon, I fear for the fate of humans in that case. I mean, if even the freakin' deities of the Pokemon World are little more than living trophies for such trainers... I would hate to see what they would do to other humans. Sure, not all trainers are this extreme... but still, it's to be considered.

As for Pokemon training other Pokemon... if the Pokemon can become sentient and have the necessary intelligence... then why not? It can be very possible... although the psychological effects of the pratices, the general view of the world, and many other factors might make this a rather interesting and complex subject...

All in all, thia is a rather interesting subject...

Stay positive
I don't see it as being possible. =S Pokemon are energy-based, humans (and animals) aren't. And (most) Pokemon may be as intelligent as humans, but they don't have the instints and...manner of thought, for lack of a better term. I don't see them as ever feeling a want or need to train others.

Yeah...that didn't add to the discussion at all...=P

Just me
I really don't see what human origins would change, irrelevant of how intelligent or not intelligent we presume Pokémon to be. If Pokémon obey and battle for animal humans, why wouldn't they obey and battle for humans who happen to belong to the same biological kingdom as them? People have come up with different theories about why humans can train Pokémon, but I don't think anybody has ever claimed that humans being of different origins is the reason (it would be a highly illogical one, anyway).

I was actually thinking about this when I was brainstorming for fic ideas.

Humans being a type of pokemon species and what not....

Anyways, It could totally be possible if you explained it well enough, Since we don't have any powers we could be stuck with the normal type.

Or better yet. Ever hear of Intuition? You know that feeling you get when you sense somthing is wrong? maybe Humans could be psychic types but lost our powers maybe through natural selection
