• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

If life had a 'Start Over' button...

Simply put, NO!

I have too good of family and friends (not to be confused with 'acquaintances') and much better life circumstances than most people in the world. And wishing to start life over would mean that I am being unthankful to all of that good.

While this is all very true, imagine while on your deathbed you get a chance to have all of that again from the beginning; basically a replay with pretty much the same output. Would you want to relive life again to embrace all those joys for a second time? Obviously there are those that want to erase the bad by resetting, but living with all the good from the very start is a very tempting offer.

Coming back to this, I can say there are regrets in life in which I'd like to fix things.

Coming to get to know a friend of mine more, I feel like we could've been more than friends had we had the chance to hang out much more with our family friends over the years.

In all honesty, I actually miss being intimate with her and would rather continue being in that position in her life.

But if it is the replay of my life, do I get to keep my memories?
1. If no, then what is the point of reliving it? I
2. If I get to keep my memories, then will I be forced to do it exactly the same things second time around?
2.a. If I have to do it exactly the same, I don't think its worth it. I wouldn't like a forced life.
2.b. If I can do it differently the second time, even then it will be all about chances & circumstances how the life goes ... so will it be worth taking the second chance?

I would go back to when my mother left dad and prevent it.

I believe everything happens for a reason, be it good or bad
If that is true, then someone owe me a BIG explaination.

I'd change some stuff, yes.

That depends. I would retain knowledge of my current life going into my next one, yes? Would my genes and birth circumstances be regenerated, or would they be the same ones that I have now?

Probably yes, but only at the absolute end of my life.

It's called "suicide."

You're all degenerates and taints on society anyway so I highly recommend you all go kill yourselves now.

I would consider it but then quickly run away from the button. If you have seen "The Matrix" than you know about the probability of repeating the same actions that led to wherever you are today and the chance of getting yourself stuck in an endless loop of eventually pressing the button again and doing it all over again, again.

No thanks

If you didn't have memories of your past life to act upon, no, because you'd do the EXACT same things unless something resided from the old life.

New Game+ for life, if you will? I'd certainly go for that.

Or how about reloading previous saves? The world is your RPG now, guys.

Maybe. If I kept my memories than I would be able to make my life better but I suppose that would kind of be 'cheating' at life and also it would take AGES to get back to your current point in life. So, probably not...

No, I'd back away slowly. It's not like I've had an easy life, and I've still got challenges, but I can think of an awful lot of ways it could be worse.
