I feel 2 would be an Ash rival mon(Harrison or Gary), while Z would be either a contest rival mon(Kenny) or belong to Team Galactic.

Perhaps, although the original Porygon isn't exactly interesting aside from it being a Pokemon designed by humans. It doesn't look particularly cool however, nor is it amazing in battle.
