If you are thinking about it or you are bidding on one do this first. i bought my emerald off e-bay and it was fake and yesterday it meet Mr. Ball pean hammerafter i lost 199 pokemon. ask for a picture of the cart before you buy it. i am certian that you all have read the threads about fake games and know their dangers. unless you want a fake game ask for a pic of the cart. i was useing mine as a pokemon box and just when i was going to emty it all my poke where erased + more items than you would believe. for instance 25 master balls not sharked. :-(

You're right, but even if you ask for a picture maybe they will show you the picture of there real games and give you the fake one.
But actually I never buy anything from e-bay, I never trust them.

Try and get one from a seller in your country, with a real picture (not a scan in or Google pic), and try not to buy ridiculous buy it nows like £8.99, or those that start at that price, and try and find someone who isn't selling 1000's of them. Personally I would buy Emerald new from a shop as people put stupidly high bids on something that's 2nd hand.

ummm.... shall i say duh?
although asking for pics won't work... most people post pics on the bidding page itself and could direct you to it. or they could post a "borrowed" pic of a real cartridge and still sell you the fake.
Don't trust e-bay for games

I dont know why people buy games of ebay!!! Its annoying now that people are asking why there game file is ereased after the e4. Dont buy games off ebay just pay the extra 10-20$ and there you go.

The only game I bought off E-bay was tecmo Super Bowl for the NES (which was legit, by the way). But if you're going to buy a game that's part of a popular franchise (like pokemon), you're better off going to a store.

I've bought plenty of games off ebay. I've never got a fake or a game that hasn't worked. You just have to be smart about what your buying. Like Pokemon Emerald for 5$ buy out will most likely be a fake.

If you're gonna buy games off eBay, then you havfta use your common sense. Like if you see D/P on eBay now, it's defineatly fake, if you see it for like 5 bucks each, it's fake. You're much better off going to Gamestop imo.

well the one that i purchased the seller was out of usa same as me but their store was in china or japan. i didnt know that till i got it and the package had stamps from like 8 differant countries. also i paid like $20 for it and i didn't know any better at the time. i would have went to a store and bought a used one but the game was only 3 months old and my car ws wreched. :-(

Not all fakes are that obvious when it comes to price...I bought Pokemon Emerald off of there for £20, which isn't that cheap, and it turned out being fake. The only reason I bought it was to save £5...lol.

Make sure that you can get a refund, just in case. I got a refund on my game....

That's why eBay has a seller feedback percentage and also tells you where they are from. If they are from anywhere in China don't buy, that's just not smart. Also, check their feedback, if you see even once that thereis nnegative feedback for bootleg games dont' buy it.

It's all common sense.

DON'T TRUST EBAY, PERIOD!

EBay is highly untrustworthy. It's goes beyond Pokemon; EBay shoppers have a history of being jipped.

Also, no one is one the site to check the authenticness of the products.
