If you want Omanyte or Kabuto...

Hi, all! I've seen a bunch of trade requests asking for Omanyte and Kabuto, so I thought I'd post this friendly PSA:

Technically, you don't need to trade to get the Fossil Pokémon Omanyte or Kabuto! Pokémon: Let's Go actually gives you a way to get duplicates of all 3 fossils, even the one you didn't pick at Mt. Moon! To find them, follow these steps:

  1. First, you need to become the Pokémon League Champion.
  2. Then, head over to Cerulean Cave (it's that cave north of Cerulean City that you can only reach by Sea Skimming or flying - you know, the one where you find Mewtwo).
    • Cerulean Cave contains a ton of hidden items, which are only detectable by watching your partner Pokémon's tail - if it wags slowly, there's an item nearby, and if it wags really fast, you're right on top of the item. When that happens, just press A a lot as you zigzag around in a very small area, and you should pick the item up.
  3. There are two hidden item locations in Cerulean Cave that can yield fossils:
    • in the middle of the top floor near some glowing stalagmites, and
    • on the basement floor, just before the body of water you'd have to Sea Skim across to reach Mewtwo's platform.
Each of those spots will give you either a fossil (Helix Fossil, Dome Fossil, or Old Amber), or a Max Revive. The spot in the basement will give you only one item per day, but the one on the top floor can be searched once or twice per hour! I've gotten at least half a dozen each of Omanyte, Kabuto and Aerodactyl by doing this.
There are also a TON of other hidden item spots in Cerulean Cave; the ones on the top floor are mostly located in the sparkly patches, and will regenerate items in as little as 5 minutes! These will usually give you either a Golden Razz, Pinap or Nanab Berry, a Poke Ball, a Great Ball, an Ultra Ball, or, rarely, a bundle of 10 Ultra Balls!

Good luck!

You can find Master Ball’s in those sparkly patches too.
