• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

If You Were in Charge of the Anime (*POTENTIAL SPOILERS*)

I'd remove all involvement of non TRio Rocket members post OG. Never liked seeing Giovanni or his crew getting arcs in BW and SM.

I'd remove Lance from the AG "climax" and put Steven and Misty here instead (Brock and Misty serve as a subtle nod to land and sea ig lol)

Remove the Lillie being scared of Pokémon plotline and keep the original SM plot. URS are the antagonists for Necrozma's arc.

I agree that the Rocket-dan as an organization has felt pointless for quite a while. I never liked Matori's introduction, much less Sakaki's slightly expanded role in Best Wishes since he'd been sitting in his office from OS through DP, so it seemed strange to me that he suddenly became more involved in BW.

I would made him more involved in Kanto outside of St.Annu story and whole thing about Mew and Mewtwo arc

I'd try to produce more episodes a season, probably 5 shows a week. The shows would be shorter, about 12-15 minutes each. Hey, if radio sitcoms could do it, why not?

Er you realize that animating episodes is alot harder than radio broadcasts right? Even if the episodes were made shorter there's still no way the studio would be able to make 5 episodes per week unless they hire a lot more animators... but that would cost a lot of money and prolly wouldn't be worth it.

Yep. But if you’re going to dream, dream big!

In Kalos, I would have Serena be a Trainer, either a Sky Trainer or taking on the Battle Chateau challenge. I would also have Ash bring back Charizard in Kalos and Mega Evolve him. He'd still get Greninja but he would have Protean as his ability. I would also have Ash win the Kalos League with the final battle being Mega Charizard X vs. Mega Charizard Y with Mega Charizard Y barely winning after reverting back to normal but refusing to faint until the end of the battle.

Yeah but i made my goal of change the show to Matching the source material (A Main Core Games and a mangas that base off the games ) as i try making it bit realistic.

I pretty much agree, especially the part about Serena being a Sky Trainer. I always thought that she should've gotten Yayakoma as her first Pokemon instead of attaining Fokko. Fokko could've been Satoshi's or Eureka's instead so that Serena could've focused on Sky Battles with a team full of Flying-types.

Serena not being a performer and instead taking on the Battle Chateau or trying her hand at being a Sky Trainer. There were picture perfect chances for both, and yet both were completely unused in the end. While I did enjoy the glamor of Showcases and the sakuga they brought as a kind of weekly guilty pleasure, I felt they were regressive and very uninspiring, especially in that generation where the games had so many extra activities. Y in the manga being a Sky Trainer also just felt right; it’s a shame that wasn’t what we got in the end.

Kind of....all of SM. While I did like and enjoyed what we got eventually I will be the first to admit the game storyline was completely butchered, and Lillie utilized even worse. An SM anime had all the right to be dark and mature and exactly what XY was trying to be, and as much as I rag on Yajima I think SM was the series he should’ve been working on instead. At least the original storyline might’ve been enhanced or treated with the respect it deserved.

If we are talking realism...

Remember that the manga got some leeway and managed to end a certain game's adaptation after their generations ended so I don't think one could use manga elements for the show because they probably wouldn't exist at said point in time.

People like to say the manga is much better but forget a few things: a) it's more niche since it requires the franchise's target audience (little kids) being both able and willing to read; b) because it's more niche, it allow itself to have more criative liberty; c) a manga is done mostly by the author (or authors in the case of PokéSpe) and the editor.

An anime is a whole different beast: it has multiple writers, depending on the schedule it can have multiple animation directors EVEN it's just a single episode, there's executive producers doing papper work and budget, and the higher ups who own the studio. And all that not to mention other interested parts such as toy companies and the like. There's multiple interests that sometimes conflict so they need to find a common ground.

I would've made the Battle Frontier from the Ruby & Sapphire saga more challenging for Ash by incorporating some of the rules from the games into the facilities. Also I would've shown the Johto/Sinnoh Battle Frontier during the Diamond & Pearl saga.

Yeah but a Pokemon : The Origin and Generations show it can work as Anime series and it would like to end Satoshi/Ash/Red as main character after the Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, arc and FireRed and LeafGreen arc ending and he would only pop in Gold and Sliver & Crystal arc and HeartGold and SoulSliver Arc and Black and White 2 arc and Sun and Moon arc then a Let Go prequel or a sidestory arc (?).

I would make full battles start at the Round of 32 or Round of 16 in every league. I don't like how they've become later and later every generation since Hoenn

same here as i would Made the Kanto Arc of the original series as Satoshi /Ash 's character Arc as "Red" of the anime universe and have him play legendary Hero live in Mt. Sliver when he was best by Kenta/Jimmy/ Gold of Pokemon 2 aka Gold and Silver /Crystal arc and battle against The Neo-Rockets leid by Sird of Beast Warriors in seven island In Battle F /RFLG arc

I'd bring back the old artstyle and rewrite SM completely
Id prefer if they went back to the art style of the OS-DP series as I didnt like how the BW-XY art style looked, especially Ash's eyes.

And I'd make Mallow, Lana, and Sophocles recurring characters while keeping Lillie and Kiawe as main characters and i would do more things with the school setting like rivalry classes and other activities.

No as they will eventually update the Artstyle anyway

I think SM would work better with the "middle-ground" design used on Journeys
