Sword & Shield - The Series

In the aftermath of Ash's Alolan League win, he's approached by Leon to recruit him for the Galar League. Leon explains that it's the logical next step for him: televised Gym matches. Leon was so impressed with the Alolan League showing that he announces he has never endorsed anyone before, but wants to endorse Ash. Ash's character arc sees him fighting against becoming too overwhelmingly cocky in the face of being a celebrity. He's constantly hounded by 'fans' and people who are impressed that he's Leon's first and so far only League endorsee, so he needs to be humbled at a few points. As he takes on the Galarian League, he finds himself challenged with Pokemon that are "against his norm", really pushing himself as a trainer to deal with a variety of different Pokemon. It would have been nice to see his first League win really make a difference in his personality and have affects on his character. By the end, he faces Leon and defeats the Galarian League. He becomes listed as one of the strongest trainers in the world.

Bea is his traveling companion. She is sarcastic, confident, booksmart, puts Ash in his place, but doesn't pick fights (in direct contrast to Iris/Misty types before her). Bea was a Gym Leader but was forced to step down by her overbearing parents after suffering an injury during her own personal fitness training, so Allister has taken over the Stow-on-Side gym for her, much to her bitterness. Her rivalry with Allister is hilariously one-sided; Bea sees them as enemies and her mortal archrival while Allister is very aloof and doesn't even really register that she's angry with him. Bea sees Ash as a means to escape her parents' grasp. She lies to them, saying she won some sort of contest to accompany a champion. She initially seeks to ditch Ash afterward, but the two actually become friends and she chooses to stick by him. Bea loves to read and is intrigued by history in particular, drawing her to the ancient Galarian legends. Bea's goal is directly linked to the Master Dojo in the Isle of Armor: introduce a new type of 'side-quest'. Trainers who fight alongside their Pokemon and battle other trainers. Dojos are interspersed throughout the region, with Mustard and Honey of the Max Dojo in charge of this tourney-style match-up. Bea ends up getting Ash involved in some of these for comic relief's sake. Bea's arc sees her coming to terms with her goal, while also patching up the fractured relationship she has with her parents. By the end of the series, Bea manages to achieve her goal as a Max Dojo Master, and decides she wants to travel the world to uncover more about ancient Hisui, inspired by her capture of Ursaluna and her love for history books.

Marnie and Bede function as Ash's main rivals, while Klara is Bea's main rival, alongside some anime-only faces.

Ash's team is designed with a specific antithesis to the "norm" for Ash: a slow tank, Pokemon reliant on their abilities, a Team Rocket mirror with anger issues, and a Pokemon with multiple 'parts'
  • Main party:
    • Scorbunny/Raboot/Cinderace act much like Goh's in 'Journeys'; a troublemaker/outcast, gains confidence and finds a passion for battling, has Libero for ability and a varied movepool for strategic use
    • Applin is caught when Ash accidentally thinks it's food; upon evolving to Appletun, this gag continues much to Ash's misfortune
    • Cramorant is derpy and dorky, uses Gulp Missile to use Pikachu as a weapon; sometimes it accidentally scoops up Ash
    • Galarian Meowth is unpredictable and almost-feral in its battle hunger; it's caught when it teams up with Ash and Bea during a Team Rocket episode has a rivalry with TR's Meowth and eventually evolves into a more disciplined Perrserker
    • Falinks is introduced with each member of "the squad" having distinct personality traits; Ash struggles with this new type of battling style
    • Hisuian Zorua is caught when "Legends: Arceus" promotion starts to kick in; Zorua's tricky personality and reliance on Illusion as an ability are new strategies for Ash, it evolves to Hisuian Zoroark just in time for the League
  • Reserves updated during Galar League:
    008.png
    006.png

    • Ash's Squirtle returns and evolves into Wartortle; an episode is dedicated to how it handles the Squirtle Squad
    • Ash's Charizard returns and Mega Evolves into Mega-Zard X during Leon battle
    • Ash's Totodile has evolved into Croconaw at Oak's Lab and evolves again during a League battle
    • Other reserves such as Torterra, Gliscor, Melmetal, Incineroar return for either redemption or just more battle experience
  • Befriended:
    888-c.png
    892-r.png
    • Ash takes on the Rusted Sword during the climactic final battle against Eternatus and commands Zacian in battle
    • Ash befriends Kubfu and evolves it into Rapid-Strike Urshifu once he and Bea reach the Isle of Armor; he does not keep Urshifu
Bea's Team:

  • Main party:
    • Bea starts out with Tyrogue; Tyrogue faces a Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee trainer, each form tries to convince Tyrogue to become like "it" and it instead balances itself and becomes Hitmontop
    • Clobbopus is also on her team at the start of the series; evolves into Grapploct near the end of the series
    • Galarian Farfetch'd is also on her team at the start of the series; much like Ash's in 'Journeys', it is serious and evolves into Sirfetch'd by the 60th episode
    • Grookey is caught and then trained to become a tough battler; its Thwackey stage sees it become more relaxed so Bea focuses on training it and it evolves into Rillaboom
    • Stonjourner is presented as a funny Pokemon, due to its size and strange behavior, but it's extremely powerful in battle
    • Ursaluna is captured when "Legends: Arceus" promotion starts to kick in; Ursaluna is injured and Bea helps treat it and captures it, inspiring her to travel and help retrieve ancient Hisuian forms
  • Befriended:
    889-c.png
    892.png
    • Bea takes on the Rusted Shield during the climactic final battle against Eternatus and commands Zamazenta in battle
    • Bea befriends Kubfu and evolves it into Single-Strike Urshifu once she and Ash reach the Isle of Armor; she does not keep Urshifu
Team Rocket's Team
Jessie:

844.png

James:
816.png
825.png

  • Chewtle would function much like it did in 'Journeys', but it would actually be captured
  • Silicobra would continue the snake tradition for Jessie and eventually evolve into Sandaconda
  • Sobble's a controversial choice, but I think it'd make for a cute dynamic with James; if it appears often enough and its evolutions get featured from other characters, I don't have issue with TR getting a starter at some point
  • Blipblug would be captured early and then eventually evolve into Dottler
  • Eiscue just seems to really fit with James IMO, and get them their first Ice-type; plus, it'd be nice to see them matched evenly with 3 Pokemon each

This is such a good and well thought out idea and I'd absolutely love for this to happen if we had to have a Galar only series
Rn, as messy as JN is with its writing at times, I still prefer we got this format rather than going back to Galar only
But really, I love this idea and absolutely would want something like this to happen if we were to have a Galar only series

- Serena would never appear in the anime
- I would give a little more attention to the Galar region
- Misty on her return to Sun & Moon would wear a "Let's Go" outfit
- pokéballs would look like in the manga "Pokémon Special"
- obstacles in Gyms

I have nothing against Journeys format. I have issues with how it was handled in some spots, I just thought it would be fun to imagine a “traditional” series for Galar since I feel the anime hasn’t handled Galar elements very well unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback! :)

7. Ash going to Sunyshore city, meeting again with Volkner and they talking about battles until Flint came. Ash switched his team and his team is full member, but battle going to only 4 vs 4: Charizard, Infernape, Donphan and Garchomp. [Empoleon and Lucario in Oak's Lab].
Murkrow decided himself evolve into Honchkrow, Dawn panicked but soon calm when see Honchkrow is more friendly than troublemaker.
3 episodes.

8. Everyone came back to Hearthome city, Ash met abandoned Eevee, befriended with this pokemon and caught [this pokemon evolve later, but Chloe's not]. Chloe shock to Ash that she want challenge Fantina realizing that gym leader is toughest far than she know. She got battle only with her Gengar, but lost. Fantina teach her how to feel like become a pokemon trainer [opposite for worst Ash's explain words about this].
Lucian came, so Ash got challenge, that battle would be toughest. Ash's team: Pikachu, Gengar, Krookodile, Dragonite vs Lucian: Mr. Mime, Bronzong, Espeon, Alakazam.
4 episodes.

9. Everyone going again to Jubilife City, after defeating all E4 members - Ash going to change a team again before battle against Cynthia.
He going to train his Eevee in forest, but suddenly evolved into Leafeon.
His team: Pikachu, Infernape, Empoelon, Torterra, Garchomp, Leafeon. After intense battle Ash get a draw, but Cynthia gave him a Champion title and she resign being as a champion - she want more enjoying time with studying history about legendary and mythical pokemon than battles.
6 vs 6 battle.
3 episodes.

And that would have been 25 total episodes, because E4 have just only 4 trainers + Champion.

    • Ash's Squirtle returns and evolves into Wartortle; an episode is dedicated to how it handles the Squirtle Squad
    • Ash's Charizard returns and Mega Evolves into Mega-Zard X during Leon battle
    • Ash's Totodile has evolved into Croconaw at Oak's Lab and evolves again during a League battle
    • Other reserves such as Torterra, Gliscor, Melmetal, Incineroar return for either redemption or just more battle experience
  • Befriended:

    • Ash takes on the Rusted Sword during the climactic final battle against Eternatus and commands Zacian in battle

  • Eiscue just seems to really fit with James IMO, and get them their first Ice-type; plus, it'd be nice to see them matched evenly with 3 Pokemon each
This is really good and makes me wish we got a standard Galar series instead even more. I’m surprised you didn’t give Bea Machamp though

With the revelation iris as one of master Eight , I wish they write Iris Better in BW and make her Rival Companion

What I’m gonna change
Excadrill Disobedient Arc : Her lose take Place in Drayden Gym where Iris Took 7th Gym Challenge for unova league , Excadrill took lost hard that lead to its disobedience, which stop iris to further her Gym Challange, It’s obedience come back when he battle Georgia
Her Ice type fear : when she try train her other Pokémon druddigon and Zweilous to try rematch drayden , she encounters Kyurem which swept her team completely which traumatized her and make her fear ice type Pokémon that force her return to her village to heal her pokemon
Starting Again : She felt down after all that happen , then the elder suggested her to starting new with baby axew to regain her spirit back , she only bring her Excadrill cause her other Pokémon got really bad injuries that take long time to heal in her village
The rest of journey : Would Be the same, Excadrill obey iris again after met with Georgia, Georgia would be her main rival, that also collecting badge, I would give Ash Snivy to Iris and Emolga To Bianca, She regain her Spirit after she met Chyntia, I would make her friend zweilous that on rampage as Her , Her badge quest revelation to Ash and Cilan when She back to the village , Her rematch with Drayden get her 7th and Marlon for her 8th, she participated in leagues Her team Would Would , Excadrill , Fraxure (Evovle during axew lost episode , Servine (Which Evolve later to Serperior in DA) , Druddigon , Hydreigon , Dragonite, she will lost to Ash in top 8 While ash lose to Virgil in Semi Final , She Joined Ash and Cilan Adventure in Decolore Island ( being realistic here cause there no way writer gonna write travel companion more superior to ash )
Her Came Back in JN : would explain after her journey with Ash , She Go follow Rayquaza and rechallange the unova League and became the champion after beating Alder , Her team vs Ash in Great Class Would Be Garchomp and Jobnite Vs Happynite and Mr. Fish , She reveal that Her Fraxure Evolve To haxorus and became her ace and she also catch lapras , after her lost to ash in great class ,She will appear one more time when Ash Gonna Face Drasna, It reveal her rank is higher to ash and her next match is against Flint for the master 8 position, She and Ash trained together, She teach Ash Mr . Fish dragon rush with Haxorus Vs Mr Fish and than she depart with ash again

Imo That would make her being strong champions more believable

- Introducing a character who doesn't accept Pokémon Trainers as he thinks it is immoral to make Pokémon hurt each other.

- a few times it was obvious that the trainer (or the coordinator in the case of Haruka) was almost injured during the fight, so I would give the trainers some item that would protect them from possible injuries.

- on "Darkest Day" I would involve more leaders (eg Nessa, Kabu, Gordie, Piers) + Hop.
For me, it looked a bit strange that in the anime, only a Champion, two children and only one Gym Leader were involved in the protection of Galar (I don't count Sonia, because she didn't really do anything) and the rest ignored it.

If I was in charge I'd make THIS the Masters Eight matches (Yeah, I know Pidgeot and Butterfree were released but let's say here that they came back for the ultimate match in which Ash's OG team fights his greatest adversary).

I wanted to even out the Reserves while letting each of Ash's JN mons contribute to a match, with Lucario acting as the Ace against Lance so no bias comes in and everyone is (technically) equals in this tournament. Of course this match chart assumes Ash fights all other seven Masters. And while AG is the only Kalos guy on the Alain rematch, I think adding the Alola mons for some sweet payback against the one who prevented Ash becoming a champion in XY from two keys to Ash becoming the Alola Champ is fitting, along with Dracovish being a good Dragon to use against Alain's mons.

Love the teams. But I can't help but find it hilarious the thought of Pidgeot and Butterfree suddenly becoming on par with the strongest dude in the world lmfao, like were they in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber or something?

Well if JN team can become World Champion level in a fraction of the time that took for other Aces to get into Low E4 Level then that's hardly impossible

One thing I'd change about Journeys.

Goh is originally from Galar and Ash meets him there. Scorbunny's capture is more or less like the show (I like not being the typical "professor offered me starters and I picked one").

Thanks! I decided I wanted to give her varied types on her team and I'd rather feature the new Galar Fighting-types as opposed to a Kanto one that's been featured already. But it definitely does seem like a glaring omission and in hindsight, I'd definitely add it to her roster.

In the upcoming Scarlet and Violet anime, I would have the main character be a ten year old Lei who is just starting their Pokemon journey, and they would decide that they would start their journey in the Paldea region. Lei would be very overconfident and overestimate his skills as a Pokemon trainer, at first believing that he is already a great trainer since his father is the Masked Royal, and his 'big brother' Ash is the champion of Alola and the strongest trainer in the world. However Lei would actually not be that good of a trainer at first losing most of his battles, thinking he doesn't have to use any strategy in Pokemon battles and that he can just wing it.

Ash would travel with Lei being a mentor towards Lei, trying to help him across the beginning of his Pokemon journey, with Lei reminding him of himself when he started his Pokemon journey, at the end of the Scarlet and Violet anime this would basically be our goodbye to Ash with him going to travel across the world to find new Pokemon and battle strong trainers, while Lei would go to whatever the next region would be.

Characters like Goh, Chloe, Professor Oak, Kukui, Burnet, and others like Brock or Misty would make appearances now and then either for a short scene or for a single episode. Some of Ash's older Pokemon would also get some appearances from time to time.

During the series at some point Lei would get a Pokemon egg that would later hatch into a Pichu and evolve into a Pikachu, and the same with how Ash would mentor Lei, Ash's Pikachu would act like a big brother and mentor towards Lei's Pikachu.

This is how would I made it.
Gen 8: Galar league/Galar Star Tournament where strongest trainers except Champions, E4, BF and gyms participate.
Top 4 are E4 levels of Galar region. Ash becomes one with being in Top 4.

Gen 9: Ash battles and beats Gen 9 Champion.

Gen 10: Time for PWC which happens every 10 years. Ash is runner up and can rematch monarch for the title any time.

Gen 11: Ash meets his father who trains him against Monarch. Ash beats that Monarch and becomes new one. He battles his dad who destroys him. Ash learns that his father is Pokemon Master and that he beat many many strongest trainers across the Multiverse and that Monarch is just second strongest title in Masters hierarchy. First being Champion.

Gen 12 ownard Ash travels in other zones to beat trainers and whenever Pokemon ends, it ends with Ash beating his father and Ash becoming officially strongest trainer in the entire Pokemon Multiverse.
