If you use the "Up, Select, B" trick to delete all saved data, does it clear things such as:
1) All game memory of using gameshark/action replay?
2) Fixing the Berry Glitch? <--As in making it so that you never fixed the Berry Glitch so it'll happen again.

From what I understand it resets the game to factory settings, so if so, yes it probably would delete both of those things. However I am not completely sure on that, so don't take my response as the definite answer, as I might be wrong.

No it doesn't. You can't get rid of the berry fix.

I know that it doesn't fix the Berry Glitch, the only way to do that is download the fix or trade with Fr/Lg/E. For cheating, it depends on what the code was. If it was one that only affects the save file, it should delete it, but if it's one that affects the whole cartridge, it won't delete it. The way to tell is if it still has glitchyness after the save file is deleted, then it affected the whole cartridge.

I'm 150% sure that the berry glitch fix can't go away. I've tried repeatedly.

With the berry glitch- It was on my Saphhire, but then when I deleted my game and started again, I think it dissapeared.

I think it did, because I linked up with my LG version to try and fix the BG (I didn't know it was gone) and it said something like "The Berry Program does not need to be updated)

I then played, and found out berries were growing.

So I think resetting can fix the BG

i think action replay codes go away. i used it on my sapphire but now the new save file is fine. the only difference is that i haven't seen latias yet -_-

Well in the past I have used both, but those files have long been deleted and no glitchiness. I want a "perfect game" (basically with no flaws). Would I be better off just buying a new game or have my codes been erased?

It's never to late to return to the light side :p I think it should erase the cheating if it were simple things.

There is a big difference between deleting your game file and performing a factory reset. "Factory Reset" means just that: the game is reset to the state it was in once it was completed at the factory. Any glitches introduced through cheating devices, Mystery Event, the Berry Glitch fix, and even the counter on the Berry Glitch clock for an unpatched game will all be reset, just like a brand-new game pak. Simply deleting your save file only disables Mystery Event (if you activated it) and switches the current save space to an "empty" state, meaning the data is still there but the game acts as though it isn't. Anyone who wasn't able to clear up problems with their game pak just deleted the save file when they should have performed a factory reset (Select + UP + B).

DOing your "factory reset" is what we're talking about. I always use that when making a new save file, and the berry glitch fix stays.

I've always had to re-apply the Berry Glitch fix after doing a factory reset. And I do them all the time before starting a new Ruby game to get more Jirachis and TMs.

WTH? It stays on mine, maybe yours is glitched? BTW don't say maybe mine is. All my friends copy's do the same thing.

I suspect that I have an older copy of the game than you do, and that is why I get different behavior. But, since I don't know if you, too, purchased your game in its first week of release (US release, for me) I don't know if that is true.

From what I understand, sharking the game affects the cartridge, so that probably means that even if you delete your game file the cartridge still may be affected.
wrong. sharking the game effects your SAVEGAME. so just start a new save file and all problems are fixed.

because heres how the AR works:

it messes with the games hex coding TEMPORARILY, allowing you to save with the items and pokemon you cheated, then certain hexes reset themselves when the games rebooted(even after saving) making the game back to normal with the items and pokemon still there.

That's not accurate. The code that is changed is not necessarily tied only to the save file. There is a set of memory on the cart, often called Flash ROM, which houses certain global changes that can be made to the game, such as updating the Berry Program (legitimate change) or sharking your game (not-so-legitimate change). In order to make a change to the Flash ROM, you need to make a change to the program in RAM and then save the game state which will, in turn, save your game file with any changes that result from the Flash ROM update. It's true that it is not necessary for GS or AR to alter the Flash ROM, as you described, but there are instances where this will happen, sometimes with devastating effects. I saw this first-hand when a friend of mine ARed his game and caused it to replace the character sprite with random tile sprites. Also, the game would freeze whenever he tried to use a HM move in the field. Deleting the save file and starting a new game did not clear up the problem, but a factory reset did.
