I'm confused

I remember a few years ago I saw a Pokemon (Kanto) episode where there was this Venasaur/Blastoise pokemon. It was a Blastoise with a Giant Plant thing on it's back and spots that Venasaur has. I know I'm right cause I remember that Pokemon perfectly, what I don't get though is how did that Pokemon even get created? I know Pokemon don't combine cause that's whats Digimon's territory, what's going on?

Uh, it's too bad you can't get the episode title, but then again, if you knew that, this wouldn't be a problem. I know what you're thinking, I remember that episode, but I can't remember for sure what it was. My guesses are:

1.A Team Rocket Mecha
2.A Special featured Pokemon
3.A Ditto gone very wrong (Lol, just kidding)

Geez, I usually know the answers to all Pokemon anime questions, but this one, I have forgotten XP

That was from The Ghost of Maidens Peak, and the "venustoise" was an illusion created by a ghastly to scare Bulbasaur and Squirtle with their evolved forms. It also made things like a mongoose to scare Arbok and a mousetrap to scare Pikachu, but it wasn't real.

You're thinking about the "Ghost of Maiden's Peak" episode, where Ghos created an illusion where Kamex and Fushigibana were combined.
