My cousin was showing me her Pokemon (impressive by the way) and I saw a black dot next to her Pokemon's number. I asked her what it was, she said she didn't know. She does have PokeRus in case that has anything to do with it. Anybody know what it is?

EDIT: I also traded her a Cyndaquil but it doesn't appear in her Pokedex at all. I was wondering why was this. This is Pokemon Sapphire by the way.

I think it means it's had PokeRus. In fact, I'm quite sure it is.

The Pokemon has had PokeRus, and that black dot shows it. It can't get PokeRus again now.

Thanks. And don't the effects of PokeRus still last with that Pokemon though?

It still gains the effects of PokeRus when it is immune, but it will no longer be able to spread.

it's pokerus. i got my 1st whip of pokerus on sapphire looking for Latias. i thought it may have happened from just running around with the same guys for so long, i later discovered i was wrong.
ahem, anyway, you can keep pokerus just to look at by storing a pokemon with it in the pc.

the black dot, as they said, means that it had pokerus but was cured of it. it still gets the boosted EV gain, though.

as for the cyndaquil: pokemon sapphire doesn't show the non-hoenn pokemon in the pokedex until it gets the national dex, which is only by trading with emerald/FR/LG/(XD?).

About the Cyndaquil not showing up on your friend's Pokedex, it's because your friend still has the regular Hoenn Dex on their Sapphire, so Cynadquil isn't even on the list. To get the National Dex on Ruby or Sapphire, you need to trade directly with a FR/LG game.
