Please don't thrash at me, but why, why do the forums have to block users from PMing other users with symbols in their names? I know it may be to help speed up the forums, but I miss PMing my pair, which so happens that I haven't talked to her in 2 months now. She is really active, as am I lately, but there is no way to be in touch. This new rule is making me very angry. I just want a reasonable explanation. Thanks.

Probably something happened to the PM coding, or something else. I miss PMing some of my friends that have symbols in their names also. :\ Or they switched servers and causeed the glitch like Spikey said.

...It's been like this for a while, but after some major event (check the announcements for that) and the server came back, it couldn't support any of those symbols any longer. It's not blocking anyone from being PMed or a glitch, but that the server doesn't support the symbols anymore.

hmm... one of my friends has symbols in his name. i PMed him a few times, but he doesnt respond, and hes been active. Does it actually not let you PM them, or what?

It could send to them, but then may never get to them. There is a glitch somewhere on the forums, just no one has tried to fix it.
