I set you all a challenge, you must play through the game like normal.. but you can never revive a Pokémon, if one faints you must release it or put it in your box, you may not remove it after that if you just put a fainted pokemon in there. You may not trade them to another game to level them up eather, or trade in high levels :p
I'll be trying it too.

edit: Oh and if you lose a battle, all those Pokémon must go away and you have to take out another and then catch more.. plus if you lose the first battle with Gary, well.. start over >_>;

edit2: Some people seem to think they have to restart after any loss, like.. from the start, well you don't.. you just need a totaly new team, so catch lots!! You only should restart before the first battle with Gary..
Or you can be a little cheat and save before every battle :p but what fun is that?

Edit3: People are getting it wrong, you can only not revive, EVER, once it faints it's gone, kaput, in the box/released, gone, ok... but BEFORE it faints, you can heal it with potions or what ever you want, just obviously never revive.. you can use Pokémon Centers, just get rid of fainted (Counted as Dead for this) Pokémon.

How will the challenge end? Defeating the elite four? I suggest you attempt it yourself. If you could successfully finish the challenge, then I might be obliged to accept.

I dont think this is impossible. You just need alot of work to do, so I dont even need to go through the game hands-on. I just need to work out what I need to do. I just get a blastoise and a kababra and I should do fine. And HM slaves and sponges. My kababra is more vulnerable to dying, so I have pokemon caught that matches near the lvl of the trainers. So I can heal my injuried pokemon while the trainer kills my pidgey which I dont care about. You said that I cant use a revive, but not a super potion or full restore. There is no time limit for this challenge, therefore theres no stopping me training my blastoise to lvl70 before the elite four, which will most likely give me problems. Those pokemon in victory road give great exp and I could manage to get to lvl70 for both blastoise and kadabra in a few days.

It's named "Train your Starter 'till the end"...

Been there, done that. I've done this in my old newb ages, and still do it when I want to sweep through a game... and yes. My Starter never faints. =/

The actually impossible challenge is to get the Magikarp you can buy and then release all your other Pokémon. You can only use that Magikarp from now on. Presto! :p

You know, some people will actually go off and try that :p. It's obviously not going to be impossible to do the challenge, but it's just going to take some time. Just a few questions...
1) Can you use the Pokemon Centre to heal your Pokes?
2) What do you do if you only have one Poke left in the whole game and it faints?

I can imagine somebody going to viridian forest and splashing with magikarp till it can only struggle, for damage.
1)Obviously you can heal your pokes, the challenge issuer said you cant revive, but you may heal.
2)Restart! But, if you were me, I wouldnt waste my time restarting. I can bet the topic creator wont bring himself/herself to restart after a loss.

If you lose a battle, it'll probialy be hard if you only have weak pokemon in your box.

It's quite possible; I don't usually lose any battles when going through; the only time I lose is if I haven't done enough training and my team is like 10 levels below the enemy. This challenge just takes an extra bit of patience.

I disagree with having to restart after having faced Blue, since victory in the first battle is completely HAX. (the Tackle war generally ends at the first CH) Either this or allow saving right before the battle.

i tried it and made it to the E4, but died against my rival. i got pretty mad bc all the other pokemon in my box are a low level and will take a while b4 they can take on the E4

Believe it or not...

I have actually tried something very similar to this challenge. I failed in FireRed, but beat Ruby without my Swampert, Milotic, Walrein, or Glalie fainting. (I know Ruby is a lot easier, though...)

The Magikarp challenge is possible. You need enough rare candies to enolve it into Gyrados.

IIRC, there are no rare candies just after you get Magikarp (and the challenge normally insists you can't trade). The easiest way is to go to the forest and only battle kakunas and metapods (they can't attack you). I remember a member of this forum got a challenge like that, no items, no other pokémon besides the lv.5 magikarp and had the trainers along rt.4 to do. If he could complete the challenge, he got to keep the game cart. Can't remember who it was, but an interesting challenge no less.

Actually, this challenge is quite possible. If you excluded PokeCenters it wouldn't be, but it is as long as you include them.

Imo that still classifies as part of the PokeCenter. XD True though, you could.
