Yes, it's short, and yes, it was written in ten minutes.

Imprison

The small brown creature zoomed forward, its fur flying back, and tackled the red fox at high speed. She took a few tumbles in the grass, but stood up and shook her head.

“Hey!” she yelled. “That was a Quick Attack! You copycat! It’s MY MOVE!”

The Eevee looked questioningly at her. “I didn’t even know...”

“Excuses!” the Vulpix screamed. “I’ll sue you for copyright infringement!”

And then a yellow rubber duck in a suit that was pretending to be a lawyer appeared out of nowhere and stuck the Eevee into prison for as long as the Vulpix lived.

Really and truly
o_O
You know the world is falling into insanity when a Fic Mod writes a seven line long One-Shot.

What do you expect me to say?
It was funny, in a weird, almost dry way. It was wacky and creative. Points for the 'rubber ducky' trying to be a lawer. Copywriting. Laugh out loud.

*has nothing more to say*

This was breaking the rules... and yet, this couldn't have worked if it would have been longer.

I cannot help but applaud.

XD Imprison...never thought of it that way. o.o It seems so blatantly obivious now, though.

Ten minutes? o_O I would've guessed...FIVE minutes. Maybe three. XD

Heh, yeah, but it took a little while to decide whether I should use "A Psyduck lawyer in a suit" or "A yellow rubber duck in a suit pretending to be a lawyer".

Funny Dragonfree, but won't you get scolded or aren't you breaking the rules?

It was extremely short, and that took you ten minutes? But, excellent as always, Dragonfree. Haven't reviewed your fics in a very long time.

Um, I really don't see whats so funny. there wasn't enough there for me to find it funny. Which is odd as I am easily amused by almost anything.

Brownie points for the rubber ducky thing, I mean eee rubber ducky. But really, I don't even know if this was really worth posting for something you worked on in ten minutes. Its just... o.o not really what is expected I guess.

I'm not going to sugercoat my thoughts cuz your a mod. Is this some kind of inside joke? cuz I dun get it, woo a eeve thrown into jail.

Only thing I really find funny about this is you saying it took ten minutes to write that. .. what, nine for the idea and one to write it out? Really find it humorous that when someone else writes something short for a oneshot/prolouge it can get chewed to hell, and this didn't....

Anyways overall this somewhat reminds me of a Monty Python skitt. But unlike a Monty moment this didn't earn a laugh from me. Maybe if it felt more.. eh I dunno what the word I want. Anyways it just came off as a bad attempt at random humor.

Sexorific!
You should have all your humor one shots in one page if they're going to be this short. I thought it was a funny premise (Rubber ducky in lawyer suit XD) but you could have elaborated more like emphasizing the fact Vulpix was using imprison or emphasizing Eevee's utter confusion

*rolls eyes*

As a mod I have always officially found the one-page rule to be only a guideline, considering I've seen brilliant fics around the lenths of this.

No, I'm not calling it brilliant, but it's meant to be short. Elaborating on anything would ruin it, and therefore it's short.

Now, clearly not everybody got what it was about. Just to make that clear, it's not "random" humour or an inside joke. It's about the move Imprison, which causes your opponent not to be able to use any of the other moves that you know. A very interesting effect, and somehow this way of explaining it makes oddly much sense considering how little sense a scenario like this story generally makes.

Truthfully I don't have a clue how long it took to write it, but it was not more than ten minutes so I guessed that. It does take me a little while to type and decide on how I'm going to word everything even in something this short, though, so it was not just typing, finished. (See, readers, this is why your Quest for the Legends chapters aren't coming.)

Either way, don't get on my back for making it short. You may criticize everything else to hell and back again, but it could NOT have been longer, end of discussion.

And thus, due to people's lack of mental speed/knowledge in a (should be) familiar field, the joke has been ruined for them. Ah well.

It took a LOT longer than 10 minutes... >> I should know. I was walking away out of boredom while trying to talk to you.

Yes, stretching a joke over the basics often ruins it. People fail to get this.

Dragonfree, as a mod let alone a FIC mod you should know better than this. The one page rule is NOT a guideline and never has been, that one page alone is for Prologues as it is.

Say what you will but a rule breaker is a rule breaker no matter who writes it, this could have easily been done up to be of value but has not, you have the full ability to.

I'm just gonna close and wonder how this got past.
