In-game trades...

Does anyone actually do these in-game trades? I plan to do them after the game is finished. When do you do these trades, if you do? Are the traded pokemon helpful to you?
By all means, discuss.

Get a Drowzee (or Abra if you're playing Crystal) and trade it with a bloke in the Goldenrod store on the fifth floor and you'll get a Female Machop - useful for Whitney, since Attract won't work. However, none of the others are particuarly useful IMO.

I just generally trade with myself and get things like Houndour early.

I do in-game trades if it helps me complete my Pokedex more easily. I don't usually use them in my main team - if I do, they're probably HM slaves.

The only one I've used properly and trained up is the Machop from Goldenrod that AJ just mentioned.

the one I found useful was where u traded a belsprout for an Onix, that helps to beat Falkner

I do them because they're there. And you get a different Trainer ID to earn a better chance at winning the Lucky Number in the Radio Station... though i never win ^^;

I do them to collect more ID numbers. I also have almost all the ones from RBY traded to GSC.

I find the ingame trades only useful for getting more ID numbers, so I'll have a better chance of winning the Lucky Number Show. I think the pokemon themselves are pretty useless, except for Aerodactyl, who of which I found useful against Red.

Oh yeah, i do them, as i feel like i've truely completed apart of the game, and to have my own little 'crew or gang' of other trainer's pokemon.

I think all the ingame trades were:

~Onix - Give a bellsprout to a guy in Violet City
~Voltord - Give a krabby to a guy in Olivine
~Machop - Give a drozee/abra to someone in the goldenrod department store.
~Aerodactyl - Give a chansey to a girl on route 14 or something.

Well, those are the ones I can remember... if I find anymore, I'll post them here.
