In the Wind
Such is the last breath of a beautiful life,
And the memories good and bad mingle in the air
So time was cut under the cold silver knife
And looking again, I saw nothing there,
Nothing but a dead, helpless dream
Is it a curse that brings us together?
Is it a dream that binds us forever?
Is it a cause that must be fulfilled?
Is it a folly that we pursue still?
The world is a dark and frightening place
I know I’m surrounded yet I feel so alone
And yet we feel bound to stare at life in the face
Still, our thoughts wander to home.
Is it a mistake in our creation?
Is it a lie in our own dedication?
Is it a greed that leads to this hate?
Is it the winds that decide our fate?
And shall I search for something to seek?
And shall I waste my life on this dream?
And will the world be seized by the meek?
And will time heal the broken seams?
Is it this world that hates us so?
Is it the pain that begs us to know?
Is it life that teaches us to care?
Is it love that pushes us to dare?
Such is the last breath of a beautiful life,
And the memories good and bad mingle in the air
So time was cut under the cold silver knife
And looking again, I saw nothing there,
Nothing but a dead, helpless dream
Is it a curse that brings us together?
Is it a dream that binds us forever?
