Send it to Nintendo or goto a local Gamestop and pay to have it fixed. Gamestop is a better choice.

Yes, because if you send it to Nintendo they usually either erase your game or just send you a new one. And BTW that means that no time-based events will occur anymore, like berrys, the once-a-day people like the berry master and your apprentice, the clock for espeon and umbreon is frozen at the time the battery ran dry at, basically all internal clocks stop.

You should contact Nintendo. They will most likely send you a new one. I don't know if they will charge you for it (but I can imagine so).

The internal battery is a little battery in every time-based game that operates the internal clock. After a very long time of play, it will eventually run out. Then all time-based events will stop working, and the only way to fix it is to get a new one installed.

What about Us people in ontario? who can fix it if it runs out. Whats the span of a internal battery anyway?

Why does it do that? I mean whats the internal battery?

Nothing lasts forever, it will die or dry out, unfortunately, as you found out the hard way. Internal battery tells you the time in a system, as loads of things have it, like mobile phones, Mp3s and iPods. If i got it wrong, someone enlighten me.
And as previously said, Nintendo ain't the best option...

Aren't there game stops in Canada?
And I don't know the exact span, but it's big, so you don't have to worry unless you've had your game and played it alot for like years or something.

Thank you very much ^^ I like my name too.

In the long run blowing on your game cartridge is bad. The moisture in your breathe will contact the copper, metal whatever they use and cause it to rust which in turn makes it harder to start the game.

Just get a Q-tip (or equivalent) and dip it in rubbing alcohol. Swab the metal inside the game gently and see if that helps any.

The only other way I know of involves sandpaper but I don't think it would be wise to use it on a small game cartridge.

lol really? Cause if you're telling the truth, I don't know what else but to send it to nintendo and have them give you a new one...

Take it to ANY store the sells the game and ask them. if they can't help you they will direct you to someone you can. and do NOT... i'll repeat Do NOT BY ANY MEANS try to fix it yourself. Don't do the Alcohol Q-tip think someone was talking about. Just take it to a Store and ask them.

That's funny cause when I took it to a store that's exactly what they told me to do. I told him that I wasn't too sure about oding that so he pulled out the store manual and showed me it and how to do it.

When the battery runs out, if you send it to GameStop, will they give it back to you without erasing the game?

Well, I guess it's up to the owner of this thread to decide what he's gonna do, but we would all recommend going to your local gamestop before doing anything else...

EDIT: to answer Charmanderz Q, yeah I think they won't erase it, but I'm pretty sure if you send it to Nintendo they'll either wipe the save file and reinstall it, or just give you a new cart. (at least it's free!)

Oh well i wasn't sure. but i still say he should take it to the store and get their help first. just in case he ends up damaging his game. last thing you want is to make things worse

Id give it to nintendo, or get a brand new game since either way your game save is erased. THe internal batterie is a lil battery that controls time events (like berries, roof sales etc.) it dies out eventully just like any game then you cant get anymore time based event.
