internet speed

i play alot of internet games, and my sister has to do coursework on another pc, but it keeps slowing down my internet gaming , nothing else though, and most of the games i play on are owned privitely and the host often kick people who have over 100 ping, as it slows down the server.

this problem doesnt seem to effect my internet, or msn, or anything else like that, just my gaming, is there any way to stop this problem, as im getting pretty annoyed...

Are you sure it's not actually the server beginning to lag or your own PC?

Toning down the graphics will speed it up a bit but since we're not sure of the problem... Yeah.

well its not the server as its saying that my ping is like 250, when its normally about 20

its annoying as i know the server is only about 10 miles away from me...

Unless you speed up your connection you probably won't be able to change anything

i used speedtest.net to check my speed. i found it good. their services are good. but when i checked it in other system which dont have flash or java plugins it didnt open. i went searched for a site which checks speed without java or flash. then i found Ip-Details.com. it estimates speed without any flash.
