Iota's Fakedex

So yeah. After deliberation, I decided it was time to put some of my creations on here.

You may find it odd, but I have 400 original designs and creations.

Not all of them are on the computer, as I've lost the wire for the computer and the Bluetooth doesn't always want to play fair. So basically, I'm just going to keep putting them on until I don't have anymore to show.

Righto.

They're all at my DA profile, which is in my sig.

Tonen Dex, here we come.

#001 - Orchetal

The grass starter. Based off a petal basically, but also the shape of its evolutions' fists. Needs some tweaking and neatening, but that will be in the later stages.

#004 - Tokeat

The fire starter. Based on a gecko. Fire on its head. Again, not as good as it could be, but the only thing I want to do with this is neaten the lines a bit.

#007 - Bubbang

The water starter. A bubble, through and through. Actually the best starter I've drawn, in my opinion, only the picture isn't that great. Will need to take a new one of that.

So...tell me what you think. I'll add more and more as I put them on the computer.

Since noone's posted, I'll just post this anyway.

Two Pokémon at the start of the Pokédex and two later into it.

Meet Bushog and Jungolf.

And say hello to Shrimpod and Shrimby.

I don't want to be offensive, but these don't look like pokemon. I can see where you're going with the designs, but you've missed the mark. Also, these are too simple to look like pokemon. However, I love your ideas and I would gladly help you more if you wish to improve.

I'd like help, yeah. I know I need to improve a lot, although I think they do look like Pokémon, even a little.

But yeah, any help would be appreciated.

If you want to imitate someone else's style, get yourself a lot of pictures in that style, then get to work copying them. Don't trace; just put the picture in front of you and draw them on some sheets of paper. Make sure to get every detail so you know that style in great detail. Keep at it until you can draw someting, look at it, and honestly say, "I'll bet people will think it's that style."

So you mean, draw from the Sugumori arts to get into drawing in the Pokémon style? That sounds about right. Thanks.

That's the stratagy I used except I started out tracing, moved up to looking-and-drawing, and then tried my own drawings and poses. Check out some of my shop's examples and definatly go the Registeel DS's Fakedex. He/She rules at Fakemon!

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say that, as in looks, Ditto is probably most simple.

Well, if you can draw Ditto, you're ready to work your way up to something more complicated but still pretty simple, such as Jumpluff. Just remember, though, that drawing well takes time.
