well everyone was getting uptight because u can't get a celebi in the american games, but if u could trade one from a japanese one it's not that bad, just a pain in the ***, right?
so back to the question, can u trade between a japanese and an american?
just curious.

how do you get celebii?

so how does Americans get celebii?

YAY, I'm a Sea Ruby Trainer now :D
They can't, unless you cheat.

However, how did Serebii manage to get Celebi on his American game? (on the Celebi page of the web site) Is it possible that Serebii is a dirty rotten cheater?

The only way to get Celebi in America, for that matter, out of Japan, is to cheat, unless you believe that a Celebi glitch DOES exist. I think one does, but thats me. Its impossible to tell if there is one, so best not to rely on that... IMO, cheating to get Celebi isnt all that bad, same if your doing it for the tickets...

I would say cheating for Celebi would be bad if you were going to use him in battle or trade with other trainers. Then it's kinda cheap. But if you're going for all 386 Pokes, then I guess it's okay just to complete your collection.

Well your all wrong, you can indead trade from japanese to american. I bought an imported Leaf Green b4 it hit stores in america, and when playing my US one i decided to see if I could trade over my starter and fossil pokemon (and master ball for that matter), and it works. The pokemon will keep their japanese name and it will act as a nickname, it won't change as it evolves. But the items and moves and everything else stays the same(well it all goes in english i mean). So yes you can get a legit celebi on a US game!
EDIT: before its said, NO I DON'T CHEAT, I DON'T OWN ANY HACKING DEVICE, I HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO THEN SPEND MY MONEY AND TIME USING ONE.

Okay, then explain why I couldn't trade my charmander in japanese red version to my american yellow version.

Honestly, I'm have no idea ;/ The only way to know for sure is to expieremnt it for real. No lies, either

And since Celebi can only be caught in GSC, and even worse, only in JAPAN, their's still no way that even Japan can get Celebi in RSE and FRLG

I think it was photoshopped. Look at Celebi in the FRLG graphics. The letters are WAY too big for real FRLG graphics. See for yourself :)

You can trade between any region/language with the ADVANCE generation of game except trade evolutions will crash the recieving game. Any English pkmn sent to a Japanese cart will only show the first five letters of the name due to cart limitations the full name is still in the data for if traded back to a English cart. When a Japanese pkmn is sent to a English cart The name will still show in Japanese characters.

You can't trade between region/language with the old gb/gbc games as it was restricted

LOL yea u can get a GBA (gba only.... gameboy color and original won't work, neither will gamecube) to trade any region pokemon game's pokemon.
And YES... u can LEGALLY get celebi in an american game, BUT, as nintendo is a business... they din't make it cheap to do.
to get celebi to an american game (for those that wish to know)

1. buy either a freeloder disc or a japanese gamecube and japanese tv

2. buy the jap version of pokemon colosseum as well as the celebi bonus disc

3. capture all the shadow pokemon and purify them and save

4. Load up the celebi disc and transfer celebi to a JAPANESE GBA cartridge

5. Trade celebi from the japanese GBA game to an american one.

Congrats u have a *^@*&@& (huh??)
oh wait.... japanese games don't use enuf spaces for celebi's name to appear in full length..... well... guess u can at least admire your new celebi
