With recent hits like lollipop and sexy can i? have played frequetly on various Radio stations. Many children form ages 8-12 susally listen to these stations. Do you think music is becoming to sex oriented? Girls susally sing about having thier hearts broken, falling in love, Having "Boobies"(Pussy cat Dolls- When i grow up), or having sex with some great guy. Guys usually sing about strip clubs, "Pornography posters" (Low-Flo-rida), or sex, or learning how to be a man. Though Childrens parents susally change the station, what if not, and they repeat it in public singing

" Boyz call ya sexy, and you dont care wat day say (yeah) see everytime they turn around they screamin your name (Dont cha)!!!!!!!!!!"

Scientist proved that a small childs mind can only hold a msall song, or a portion of one. So what if you had little boys running around singing " Like this" By MIMZ, and Girls reanacting the " IM the mother *****ng Pricess part of girlfriend? Would the music industry collapse OR Turn in to the JO-bros.
Either one is terrible, but why have to stop production?

So what????

Parents can just block the station or not listen to it, or turn the volume down when theres a swear? Why bother complaining? But the industry now has....

54% Of songs Love/sex related (Sexy Can I?)
20% General pop (with language) (Piece of me)
10% General Country (Taylor swift)
16% The disney-wisney songs that have nothing bad and are meant for kids and teens Like (Jonas brothers)

I've never been a huge fan of lyrical music, since a lot of it (especially the love-based ones) are very esoteric.

And, arguably, it is. Of course, this all depends on a person's point of view. For most children, certainly, it is becoming quite, although subtly, provocative. Not a good start for a budding generation.

Still, I'd like to see the source for the statistics you posted. I know that plenty of music has nothing to do with love and is actually trying to get a point across (or just be silly).

well i honestly think music has always been like this but it seems like there's been an out break of it.

Is it just now turning this way? Definitely not. Obscenities have been popping up in music. Blatant sexuality has been in music forever. Blues songs were often sex-related. Obscenity has been on records for a long time, though often attempts were made to remove it. Pink Floyd attempted to record a song in 1967 with the line "please just **** with me" (I think) in it. Then, there's the noteworthy case of Zappa's "We're Only In It for the Money" - in which obscenities were deleted or obscured in the final version, but often they could be found hidden in the record. So, this is not at all new. The only difference is that maybe it's becoming more blatant.

Music is not really becoming more sex-oriented. Consider, also, that "rock and roll" was a genre named for a sexual euphemism. The difference now is that music is becoming more blatant. Some people are probably just as likely to pick up on hidden sexual euphemisms in songs in the old day as they're going to giggle at the stupidly obvious sexual jabs in today's music.

I dunno, sounds more suited to the entertainment or debate forum. This will be closed until I can think of where to move it.
